There is no crime on having a gap, or gaps, in your firearms battery.
We all have varied tastes and interests, and can appreciate that we don’t all have to agree on which calibers we choose to own and shoot.
For me, while I have owned a 243, it didn’t do much for me at the time as moose was the...

Getting excited for our upcoming adventure!
Let her know that your eyes are trained for finding fish and game for the table...comes from your years of guiding!
Not for the work that keeps you away from hunting and fishing! ;)
May you enjoy many hours handling and admiring that beautiful rifle!
Whether it be at home in an easy chair with a favourite beverage, around a campfire with friends and family, or on a hunt/in a stand where you can spend quality time with a handsome firearm that is pure joy to own.

Are they both the same bullet weight?
The gemsbok, wildebeest and zebra are all tough critters known for their tenacity to life and reputation of being able to take a solid hit and keep on going...I would hedge towards the bullet with the higher weight and sectional density for mass, momentum...

IMR-4831: max of 45.4 gr for 3024 fps
I have yet to try them. But I will be loading...
Since I have a VX-3 2.5-8x35 B&C on my LH Steyr Mannlicher Model M FS SE in 6.5x55, that is a great choice as recommended above!
And I have a Kahles Helia 3-9x42 TDS on my Winchester Model 1885 Low Wall in 6.5x55, so another great choice of power range as recommended above too!
Look forward to...
