Adding a 260 Remington to the safe

Welcome to the forum, you have good taste in cartridges! I've had a 260 since it was introduced in 1997 and love it. I'm with Jim on this one on starting with the 120 gr Ballistic Tip. We load that bullet in my wife's 6.5x55 and it's awesome for deer. Powders in the 4350 burn rate are excellent...

Rookie question, why the variance in data for same weight bullet?

The above post covers it very well. Start low and work up watching for high pressure signs and you'll be good.

170 grain Ballistic Tip in a 270 Weatherby?

The 270 Bee has the case capacity to push those long bullets fast. Should be awesome performance with reasonable recoil. Such a sleeper round that has great potential.

    Trail camera recommendations

Thanks gentlemen that is a lot of great info and will help immensely. Really helps when you don't have any experience with them. I'll keep this up to date. We pick our own Christmas presents and this is what I would like. Lots of great people on this site, it's honestly the best hunting forum...

    6.5 Remington Magnum Help

I do wonder if a faster powder makes a difference. The 375 Ruger I used to own had a 20" barrel, it burned around 80 gr of Big Game powder and muzzle flash wasn't noticeable. Of course it's a bigger bore size and a 1.5" longer barrel than the OP's 6.5 Rem Mag. Very cool round by the way, it...

    Trail camera recommendations

I'm looking to get some trail cameras and was wondering which ones I should look for and which ones to avoid. I'll be in areas with no cell coverage mostly so those that use WiFi likely won't work. Thanks in advance.

    2024 Hunting Season

Thank you, glad it all came together for you. Maybe you haven't seen it yet but there is a bullet testing section on here where people post up their recovered bullets. The Fusion is a great bullet.

    35 Whelen new loads

Glad someone mentioned Big Game because I did try it before. Hard to believe it was 11 years ago now. That 275 gr Woodleigh load sure got your attention in a 7.5 lb rifle. The 250 gr Speers did quite well and 2559 fps was pretty decent speed...

    35 Whelen new loads

@NMachine sounds like a great load. I have the Speers and CFE 223 just haven't had time to try it out. Going to carry the Whelen more next year so need to get it done this spring. Going to try it with the 225 gr Sierra and Accubond too. I tried RL 15 and H 4895 with the 225 gr Accubond and they...
