223 & 64 grain Sierra Gamechanger Quickload Please

Do you think varget would be better re the extra weight when compared to the 55’s?

223 & 64 grain Sierra Gamechanger Quickload Please

Hi Guys, I have been running a load with 55 grain projectiles which have been very accurate for me. The little 223 is a cartridge I am looking to get to know a little better, it is such a fun little round. With the 64 grain sierra gamechangers, I suspect varget will work well, have H4350 but...

    TTSX 185 va 210 in 338-06?

The 215grain SGK is an under rated bullet in my opinion for the 338. Far from being a sexy “modern” projectile, but at the velocities most 338’s shoot, they just seem to work. A good balance between hardness and expansion and have never seen one just pencil through an animal. So many nice...

    Varget in .243 7 .22-250

For 55 grain bullets we had one rifle that liked 34, the other 35 grains of varget. We predominantly used SGK‘s and NBT’s. Didn’t seem to make a difference either way.

    Tikka 6.5x55 Swede, R22, 140 Accubonds, QL?

Interesting the small gains at the higher pressures, I would have expected more, particularly going from 58,000 to 65,000psi. Maybe 70fps which is literally nothing in the real world for hunting or targets, but I bet the brass feels it.

    6mm 70reain NBT

JD that would seem completely unacceptable and one you should rectify. I mean it is Christmas and all and you have been a good boy. 😀

    Nosler 2024 Bullet Wish List

Price, supply and 100x projectiles per box. I reckon the range is generally pretty good for all my hunting applications.

Quick Load Request for Dr. Mike

I ran my 6mm Rem with the 70 Nosler BT’s and it was like a laser. The irony for me was that is shoots the 95 and 100 grain projectiles more accurately, the opposite of what brought the cartridge down originally. If only Remington had put the right twist on their barrels originally, a mighty fine...

    338 Win Mag

I have been using the 215SGK and the 225NAB with RL19. The 215SGK is a really good bullet on deer, though can be a little destructive on shoulder meat. The 225NAB I used to slot a big camel in central Australia. I stuck it behind the front shoulder where it took six steps and folded. I then put...

    270 Win

My sons 270 will shoot just about any bullet and powder combination well, it is really nice to work with. For 130’s we have settled on H4350 simply because it works and is easily found. Very accurate and speed is fine.

    R26 Substitute powder!!

I was surprised by the list of powders and how little variation there was in performance. Clearly accuracy is the key but seems like a lot of options…at least when the world goes back to normal. Thanks Jim for the table.

7 mag Quickload request please - Results..

No we can't get Norma or any of the Winchester powders either. I believe we are even struggling to maintain supply of our own homegrown shotgun powders. Bit dire eh ;-)

    Quick Load Request

Such a good cartridge the old 6mm Remington. Mine seems to shoot almost all bullet weights very accurately. I have found RL22 works really nicely with the 95-100 grain bullets too.

7 mag Quickload request please - Results..

I was using RL22 with the 150 Nosler ballistic tip in my 7RM. A fantastic bullet and has never let me down. RL22 on the other hand is as rare as hens teeth in Australia now...as are all alliant powders.

    Hornady 150 SST

I have been using the hornady 150 eldx in my 280ai for range and hunting. It has proven to be highly effective on red deer doing a complete pass through on shoulder shots at ranges from 75 to slightly more than 400 yards. It is also nice and accurate, good BC and I like to practice with what I...

7MM Rem Mag. BEST 100 Yard GROUP

I have a couple of packs or 162eldx waiting for the chance to get in the 7mmRM. I have been using the 150 Nosler ballistic tip with a lot of success over RL22. Thanks for posting your load as I have a good supply of H1000 so seems like I am all out of excuses right now. Time to get busy at the...
