    Federal’s 7mm Backcountry

A well know writer outdoor TV dude admitted couple years ago about putting a 7mm08 shell in a 25-06. Now that was a tight squeeze! He made the mistake of having different calibers on the bench at the same time and stuck the wrong one in the chamber. He said he wanted to remind folks to be...

Would You Hunt Red Stag w/ this Load?

#3 group shows 3 shots about 1 in with 2 flyers. They looked about evenly spaced but opposite directions. You say you don't normally throw shots but just maybe you did pull at least one. Maybe not. I know you are running out of bullets but try loading four instead of five, split the difference...

    Ruger American Gen 1 magazines

I wouldn't want a magazine to hang down below the stock. I like the ability to carry it holding onto the magazine area. Just wish they made one of better quality and the same size.

*Heads Up* Reloading Supply Price Increases

Don't know about price increase but seen powder showing up that hasn't been available for quite awhile. In two different stores I have seen H4895. This has been absent in my area for some time. Not cheap but available. Think was $65-67 lb.

    Ruger American Gen 1 magazines

I guess this is the proper place for this question if not please place correctly. Does anyone make a replacement magazine not made of plastic for the Ruger American Gen 1? I have one of these in 223 Rem that is a great grouper and enjoy it, but the magazines leave a lot to be desired. Have two...

    Blackhorn 209 is back

I like black powder as you do. Prefer it to Pyrodex. It's not hard to clean up after shooting either. Just make sure to remove all the fouling. Have tried different solutions over the years but one I use a lot I found in Muzzle Blasts magazine years ago uses Murphys Oil Soap, rubbing alcohol...

    Which would you choose?

If not counting the 35 Rem I could be happy with a Nosler BT for all the deer hunting I do. No BT, AB or PTs made that would be a good fit for this cartridge, but it is an exception for sure.

    Tac powder odd behavior

Looking over some of the comments let me add some more info. I first worked up this load last year without any extreme spreads. I shot this load again within the last couple weeks using the same components, two groups total of eight shots. I have looked thru my records of having used this powder...
