Good that you got it figured out. I'm interested in how they perform for you. Worked with a guy years ago that used this bullet (factory load) in his Remington Mod 760 35 Rem. Said they did well.

No experience with this but want to say that is a nice-looking rifle.

Leupold 4x12x40 with the Creedmoor reticle on both of my 6.5x55s. The holdover dots correspond well with loads 2700-2800fps and it's a good fit for my area of hunting. I sight dead on then the first dot is 200yds and the second is for 300yds. Works perfect for me as that is as far as I want to...

The late Mike Venturino wrote about making shot loads for snakes in his six guns. Best I remember he loaded them in the same cases as the calibers he was loading for. There was a picture of a shredded potato he used as a target, and it was pretty impressive.

2740fps isn't anything to lose sleep over. That is plenty of speed for what you're wanting to accomplish. I've poked a few deer with somewhat lower velocity and as you said the deer won't know the difference, the oil light will still come on. If you can get or have some, try Winchester Stabal6.5...

Agreed. Have used them as small as the 60gr in 223 Rem for crop damage up to the 165gr in 30-06.

I haven't done anything to my Tikka but work up loads for it. Maybe it just worked out that way:unsure:
