I have killed grizzly with the Speer 220 grain flat nose launched from a 356 Win. That was in addition to a couple of elk, moose, and mule deer with a 356 Win. The bullet worked quite well in each instance.
Congratulations on the doe. It does appear that the bullet worked, and that would indicate that you put it in the right spot. I would surmise that the bullet disrupted the lungs, putting an end to her efforts fairly quickly.
