I have been watching every day for them and also for the 6.5 129's. I want to try the 190's in the 300WM and try the 6.5's in the 260 which is almost done.
Looks good and that you got it together. Good luck on your hunt. I haven't tried the 250 Speers but I got the 250 Part with R15 shooting very well @ 2500.
JD posted as I was typing, I worked up to 59 grns which chronos at 2500 from my 23" Shilen
If you have the Glock 27 which you like, it would make sense to go with the 36 if you like it and want to go to a 45. Your used to shooting a Glock which would help you stay consistant in your shooting. The 36 recoils a little smoother than the 27 and from my experiance is easier shooting. Just...
A friend towed his trailer with 2 quads and an off road bike with a Ford 250 with the 6.2 engine to Maine and got around 11mpg. I towed the same trailer with my truck and got in the 14’s. In my opinion, the Eco boost strength is for light to medium towing or towing bigger for only a couple of...
I have a 2011. Now have 30,000 miles on it. I average around 19 mpg on a mix of county roads and highways. The best I got was 22 mpg on the highway running about 70-72 MPH. It is pretty quick. Close to 20,000 of the miles were towing a trailer with 2 quads. Been several times to Maine, West...
I went with a Shilen #3 1-14 at 23" when I did mine. It shoots the 225's & 250 Partition very good. I didn't see myself going with anything heavier than the 250’s. Stocked and scoped, it is just over 8 lbs. Weight and balance is just right. I was very happy with it after spending a week in...
Guy, I'm running a Midwest Industies which I like.
Check this out on a durability test for a few including the mag pul

The Whelen right now is my favorite rifle but the Rem SPS 308 is probably my favorite to shoot. It’s very accurate and easy to shoot. My son shot it a few weeks ago and it put a big smile on his face. This might change when the 260 is done.
I had picked up the Midway Special last year, Viper HS 5x15 and have been very happy with it. I put it on a 308 and have been shooting steel out to 900 yards. No issues. My only complaint is the power ring is very stiff. I would consider another Vortex if I was setting something else up.
Fotis...
They do shoot. I had picked up an SPS Tact to use as a beater, but it shot every thing very well. I ended up making a tactical rig with it. As Guy stated, try the Federal GMM as it pretty much shoots well in just about everything. Also try Varget around 43.5 and work up alittle. The 165 AB and...
Both are very good, It comes down to which you like better. I carried the 92 for 9 years then went to the 96 which I didn't care for. I still have a 92 which I use if I'm teaching. Did you carry one of these at one time?
Scotty, good shooting and that load is moving. My load with the 250's is at 2500. I think the next couple of nice days, the Whelen is taking a trip to the range.
Thats pretty nice and shoots well too. A freind has an old one that he was going to sell which I was thinking about buying but I have not seen him in a bit. I had taken it apart for him, cleaned it, shot it and was pleasantly suprised. They are not bad to shoot. Good luck with it.
Top: DPMS 18” heavy barrel, VTAC handguard, Magpul stock, Miculek comp, Millett 1x4 scope w/ LaRue mount.
Bottom: Bravo Co upper 14.5” with PWS pinned comp, 11”VTAC ALPHA handguard, Aimpoint CompM2 w/4 MOA dot.
I was looking to build a lower for the bottom one before things got crazy, but...
I have had a Millett 1x4 DMS on my DPMS set up for competition for several years. No issues and its still pretty fast. You can get them for a little over $200 on sale.
Guy, good job on the mags. When I was shooting matches, I would always run a mag brush through each mag after each stage and then break them down at the end of the day for cleaning. A couple of the ranges were very sandy and would get into your mags and cause issues if you did not clean them...
