Glad to see and read that I am not the only one with variation on every single round loaded. I have noticed that bullets, especially the PT with the soft lead tip, vary in length a great deal. While they are all seated to the same depth, the COAL varies due to shorter/compressed tips on some.
+1 with me as well. I'm using my dad's 30 yr old RCBS press and it is still rocking. While the RCBS is a little inconvenient compared the Co-Ax, maybe I just need to stick with something that works for a change.
I hope they aren't increasing prices on existing inventory, that was bought at a lower price, just so they can increase their profit margin at the expense of their customers!!! Any new inventory bought at a higher cost by Midway I can understand raising prices but to raise prices on existing and...
The little bit I've shot it I am very impressed with the 338-06! I've been dealing with some medical issues personally and shooting has been on the back burner the past couple of months. I hope to get with it this summer a little bit more and see what she'll do with some Nosler bullets.
I...
I suppose my quest for decent priced .338 210gr PT seconds is over with all of the price increases from Nosler.
If you have any extra laying around Rich I'll take 50 off your hand.
Thanks, fellas!! I was hunting with a buddy who lives just outside Columbia and has access to a lot of farm land. Let me tell you, it was FUN hunting turkeys you can actually see strutting in fields and then put a stalk on them!
Here are a couple of more photos.
Finally got my turkey this spring...even though I had to go to TN to kill it.
He was beat up pretty bad and was real wet/muddy. It had rained all morning and I finally killed him around lunch. You might know it....he did the death flop right into a mud hole.
+1 on what Guy said. In the real world, what difference is 2400 and 2500 out to 250 yards? In fact, you probably won't be shooting a bear over 150-200 yards will you? Is there something we're missing on the 2500+ requirement, Mike?
Best of luck to you!! Alabama's closes tomorrow but I'm about to head to TN to try to hunt and/or roost one this evening and hunt tomorrow.
The buddy I'm going with, and his friends, killed 4 total yesterday morning between them. He said they are covered up in birds and I'm hoping to get one...
I use Lee trimmers and done by hand and/or drill when doing some volume. I'm not tech savvy and don't know much about the trimmers that require micro adjustment.
It sounds like I am pretty much like the rest of you. I shoot 1-2 fouling shots but taking serious aim at my desired POI. I don't know if it is just my gun but my .280 actually shoots dead on for the 1st fouling shot 7-8 times out of 10. It then will open up until about the 3rd or 4th shot and...
I would think they would shoot fine and will reform in your chamber. I've had it happen a couple of times to me and noticed nothing wrong or different with the rds after firing.
