I struggled but didn't pull the trigger. Probably should get some more 95gr BTs but just ordered 500 165 308 HotCors. My wife said I have too many bullets. I did an inventory and realized I have just about enough for this month. ;)

What's everyone using in their 204's? I'm loading for my FIL's No1, I believe it's a shorter barrel, I've only shot it a few times. I have 32/34 grain bullets on hand, he liked 25.0gr Rx10 with the Varmint Nightmares, but it didn't have as much velocity but drop as 32gr vmax and 28.0gr H335...
Did you put that load on a chrono? Vertical stringing is usually more to do with large es, while horizontal is generally the rifle. If the es is good then start seating out by 0.030" at a time, should see something tighten up. How far out can you seat in that mag?

Deer will be my late grandfather's Winchester M88 I was given for Christmas this year with a 165gr HotCor.
If I get pulled for a moose permit I'll probably go with my 338-06 with either 200gr NBT or 225 Accubond.
If I don't get the call for a moose, I might get to go out west for a hunt of a...
For 150gr Swift Scirocco II's, I use standard H4831, 67.0 gr with F215 primers and a good jump. I'd start around 63gr, go up by .5gr with only one round and chrono them. Once you get around your desired velocity, do a .2gr flat spot test starting 1 grain below and .6-1 grain above your desired...
I went out and tested 64.3, two three shot groups at 100 yards netted about 1.25", sp I think with the bullet seated in a little further I can tighten it up. Going to swy away .075" and .100", do a three shot group and see what happens next. Hard to find the time right now. I'll get the info...
If you have a well, have the water tested and you will see that there are trace amounts of lead in the water. That's something you use everyday.
That being said, I completely understand how you feel, and if you think the concern will take away from your hunting experience then do the change and...
I think I'm going to use some H1000 and see how it works with my gun and bullets to see if it's just a faster set up or I'm flirting with pressures. See how close I can come to Federal's data.

Has anyone loaded these yet? I just did a quick work up to try and get some data before I start accuracy testing. I started with 64.0 gr RL23 and went up to 65.2 and stopping, all in .2gr increments.
Data is as follows:
64.0 - 3110
64.2 - 3099
64.4 - 3100
64.6 - 3123
64.8 - 3116
65.0 - 3121...
Haha well do a Google search for the 338 Sherman then, tell me what you think then. I think whatever you go with you'll like it. Keep us posted which route you go!

I use both the 338 Federal and 338-06 and love them both. I prefer speed with premium bullets, using a 180gr Accubond in the Federal and currently testing the 200gr NBT in the 06. I have loads with the 225 Accubond in the 338-06 but after weighing a jacket I found from the 200 BTs I like...
Tagging in, I really am interested in the 33. Please keep us updated! I have hundreds of 225 AB's that would shine in this case.

I found my 7mm RM liked the Scirocco .100" from the lands. Tightened up under .5 moa with H4831. I'm a fan of RL23, going to work up the new Trophy Bonded Tip with it. Very low ES in my testing.

I don't have the velocity but in my Vanguard Sub-MOA I shoot 71.5 gr Retumbo with the 120gr Speer. It shoots very well, I'll chrono it after some of this snow melts. Dunno why I don't have that data.

Hey there,
So many years ago, I purchased a reloading lot of items on eBay and it came with a Redding powder measure. I got the entire lot for less then a new powder measure and used it to drop what seemed like a ton of powder. Fast forward many years, it wasn't even mounted on my bench...
