Nice score, Scotty!! I'm still keeping my eyes peeled for some 210gr PTs in .338!
By the way, I got 15 rd through the tube the other day!! It took me 2 shots to get on paper at 25 yds because I was using my eyeball to boresight it.
I wasn't worried about accuracy since it was...
I like Mike's suggestion for the 1.5-6x42 Zeiss suggestion the best with the Leupold 2nd choice. If $ is an issue then the $400 VX3 Leupold would be my choice.
I saw that Jim!!! I can't wait but a part of me fears the sticker shock when they release it. I may need to start saving up for some of it right now.
I be those photos brought back a lot of memories, Scotty! I was married with a 1 yr old child in 1995. He graduates HS in 2012. How time flies!!
I went with a 1:9 twist and told them I'd like to be shooting 210 PT and 225 AB's. I figure I'll be able to load to max box length. I haven't measured my freebore yet with any bullets.
I hope to get to shoot it next weekend.

Thank you, Mike & Jim! I love it so far. I just picked it up from UPS on Monday.
Jim - I plan to just start out with some of my 225 gr SST's to break in the barrel. I've got about 75-80 of them left over from when I had my 338WM. I play to try everything in it and just have some fun with it...
Here are the first pictures of my new 338-06 A-Square.
The specs are:
Ruger M77 Hawkeye
23" PacNor super match grade stainless barrel with factory contour
1:9 twist
Leupold 2.5-8x36 VX3
"Duke" engraved on the barrel (that was my dad's nickname - the only thing his family ever called him)
I'll...
Excellent photos!! Africa is truly a land that most of us will never experience first hand. Thanks for posting these and feel free to post more if you have them!
Opens here and in MS as well. I won't be in the deer woods but will be sitting in the stands watching Miss State and Arkansas play football tomorrow night.
