If I saw cases grow that much, the first thing I would think of would be a headspace issue.
How easy do the fired cases chamber? How pronounced is the swell forward of the extractor groove?
The first thing I would suggest would be to neck size the cases and see how easily neck sized loaded round...
Being an excellent stock card driver doesn't equate to always having sound judgement.
Clearly had this happened to a commoner, the outcome would have been different.
If the barrel couture is up to it, I'd send it to JES and have him rebore to a 5 grove cut rifle in 375 H&H.
If you want a little more 375 Zing, I have a 375 Ackley Improved and a 375 Weatherby reamer and I could drop them off at his shop to cut your chamber.
I wish he did 8mm rebores as I have...
I've been meaning to do this for a long time and finally loaded up some ammo to answer my nagging questions. I'm using 13.2 gr. 300 MP with the 40 gr. Nosler Varmageddon at 2926 fps out of a 22" barrel in my 22 Hornet with excellent results. Trying 300MP in my CPC reworked Ruger 77/22 VHZ 22...
I'd say that the observation is due to variance in the ammo and the rifle is fine. The head to shoulder length on factory ammo varies by manufacturer. This it to accommodate different chamber dimensions present in rifles the ammo could be used in. An RCBS Precision Case micrometer would easily...
The mount of RL25 you can load depends on the brass and the LOA of the cartridge needed to be ~.040" short of the rifling or the mag length if shorter.
RP brass weighs 205 gr , FC weights 204 gr. , and WW is only 194 gr. , so the actual powder capacity of the WW brass is about 1 gr. more RL-25...
I'm shooting the 150 LRAB out of a Remington 700 with a 24" barrel and RL26 will push them downrange at just under 3100 fps.
Loads that shoot at or slightly over MOA at .050" to .025" off the rifling scatter the bullets into 2+ MOA groups when seated near or into the rifling.
Don't have any of...
In my Remington 700 270 with a 24" barrel this delivers 0.5 MOA accuracy if I do my part:
130
Nosler BT
57.0
RL-17
Fed 210
Fed
3.378"
3234 fps
3020 ft-lbs
RL-22 runs about 100 fps slower and delivers 0.75 MOA accuracy.
For my LabRadar system, I went with a remote trigger and a LiPo power brick.
No way would I run it with AA batteries, as you would be buying a new set for every trip to the range.
I need to spend some time with it trying to measure 17 caliber bullets, but that might be a bright sunny day with...
I dipped into my last bottle of RL26 to see how it performed in the 24" barrelled Remington 700. This rifle has displayed sub-MOA accuracy with the 95 gr. TTSX and 130 gr. NBT bullets.
The load tried today used some 150 LRAB bullets I traded for seated at 3.492" OAL which has a .020" jump...
I've been using a CED chronograph for decades, but recently purchased a LabRadar. Part of this was due to the available light available at the local range, as the screen were almost only in the shadows except during mid-Summer. I was able to try a LabRadar before I purchased a unit, otherwise I...
This is the lowest online price I found, if they were in stock:
https://www.powdervalleyinc.com/product/nosler-451-45-185-grain-jacketed-hollow-point-custom-competition/
That amount x4 and actual shipping will get them in your hands.

My wife wanted the tree gone before this occurred, and the BMW dealership had already spent $65,000 towards the removal of tree, so I just had them call in an arborist to finish removing the tree and grinding the stump.
My rural front yard is a gathering place for cars as they don't respect the corner that is posted at 25 mph and I can easily drive my Honda Civic through at 45 mph without squealing or drifting. During the summer months the local kids turn my road into a raceway and I have been trained to know...
