    Check your flight information!

The good news; we will be flying home via London. Never been there before, never been anywhere but Canada and Mexico. She has been Everywhere except Antarctica. She has friends who are still with the State Department in London. Planning a whirl wind tour of London during our 8 hour layover. Oh...

    Check your flight information!

I get weary of the airline games. They jack your flight schedule around until it no longer meets your need, then offer to be generous by allowing you to re-book your flight at a higher price. About the same ethics as a loan shark.

Blue Cyclone has a Rival... :)

I shoot 59 gr. of Retumbo in my 25-06 with the 115 BT and get 3164 fps. Pressures seem reasonable in >>my rifle<< and Gordon's software shows it below 60kpsi.

    .350 Legend Experience

I have a 350 Legend on a AR platform. Nice low recoiling round, but way behind the 35 Whelen as far as performance.

    Old Primers

I got some primers from the 60's is a collection of reloading equipment. I wasn't going to risk using them for reloading, but they found a use fireforming cases using the Cream of Wheat method. 99% or so fired on the first try and most of the others responded to a second strike.

New to me - 338-06 AI

I bought some of the Midway bullets for my 338 Federal, but they would be great in the 338-06 AI as well.

    280 Ackley

My 280 Ackley is a beanfield rifle wearing a 28" 8 twist PacNor barrel. The long barrel helps digest slow burning powders and so I can get 3200 fps with 140NAB and 3000 with 160NAB and sub-MOA accuracy at 400 yds. if I do my part. For the most part I use Fed 210M primers in my loads except when...

    Lever options.

I'm a Winchester M88 fan and have several in 308 and one each of 243, 284, and 358. I just like how they come up to my shoulder and point where I'm looking. To me that is the most important attribute of a brush rifle for close in work. The 358 is tough to beat for a cartridge that can throw a...

    .308 pistol load ?

Just ran some simulations on Gordon's and it looks like H4895 is the best choice for velocity.

    25-06 & 85 BT's Best Powder....

H4350 just because my rifle shoots it well with 100 gr. BT.

    25-06 & 85 BT's Best Powder....

I can't begin to estimate the number of rounds that I've sent downrange to find something slightly faster or more accurate. It's going down a rabbit hole and little good will come out of it. Between H4350, Varget, and H4895 you have three reasonable powders for launching 85 gr. bullets out of...

    25-06 & 85 BT's Best Powder....

I use 100 gr. NBT and H4350 in my 25-06 and get outstanding accuracy. H4350 will likely give you the highest velocity of the powders listed, but Varget and H4895 will be less than 100 fps slower at MOP.

    25/06 standard or Ackly?

A 25-06 pushing a 110 gr. NAB with RL26 is less than a full case by the time you reach max pressure.

JES does wonderful work. I stopped by one day just to chat with him in his shop and he's and nice as his work is good.

    6.5 Grendel: bolt or AR

I have a CZ527 in 6.5 Grendel and a 18" Satern barrel on an AR platform. Frankly the AR is more accurate than the bolt gun. What the planned use will determine the choice.

    Fieforming some 375 Improved brass

Based on my experience with the 375 Bee, you should get higher velocities with RL-17, but H4350 is a solid performer too. With a 300 AB I can get almost 2700 fps in my rifle with H4350 and another 80 fps or so with RL-17.

How many 338 Federal shooters here?

46.0 gr. of Lever got the 250 NPAR slightly above 2300 fps at 15' from the muzzle and there might be another 50 fps available. According to the ballistic tables the velocity of the 338 Federal with 250s differs from the 338 WM by ~ 200 yards. A 338 WM at 400 yards is about the same as a 338...
