180 Accubond recovered from bull nilgai

I used RL22 and 180 Accubonds earlier in January. I recently tested the Barnes 180 TTSX a few weeks ago with RL25, I was able to run them at 3,240 fps average. I backed off a half grain before it got to pressure. Barrel is 26 inches. What powder did you use?

Quick Load data for N560 in the 308 Norma Mag?

I don't have your fired case dimensions for a more accurate result, this is just an estimation so please work up. Predicted data by increasing and decreasing the given charge, incremented in steps of 1.0% of nominal charge. CAUTION: Figures exceed maximum and minimum recommended loads ! Step...

    Powder consistency with Dillon 550B

Looks like I need the coffee, its indeed a tenth of a grain or less, not half a grain. Thank you for the correction.

    Powder consistency with Dillon 550B

I did read a couple of days ago about the powder bar, it needs to bottom out flat in the open and closed position, and return spring does help. I checked that and it has very tiny play without any spring or rubber bands. I'll try to give Dillon a call soon for a spring or two, and ask them for...

    Powder consistency with Dillon 550B

Sorry, I did not clarify better in the first place, I just dumped the powder from the brass unto the powder scale pan and weighed the powder only.

    Powder consistency with Dillon 550B

I did a little test with my Dillon that I dusted off after 19 years, used MR-2000 rifle powder, since its ball powder with is similar to Power Pistol, Auto Comp and AA#7. I wanted to see if it leaked, or leaving kernels between the metering blocks, etc. Grabbed 8 fired 38 Super cases with the...

    Snagged some pistol powder

Took a drive out of town, I was lurking in a local gun shop an hour away, and was able to snag Power Pistol and AutoComp, grabbed some lunch. Headed back and stopped at Bass Pro. Found AA#7, and came home happy. Those three should last me a while for the .38 Super and .45. Waiting for my .38...

    223 @ 1040

Good shooting. May I ask what is the twist on your rifle? 80 grain heavyweight moving at a decent speed at a thousand.

    Cases splitting / 38 Super

Decided to toss all my loaded .45 and 38 Super ammo, totaled about 350 rounds. 😞 Not worth keeping loaded ammo made 20 years ago, not knowing what would happen. I have about 200 pieces of new .38 Super brass and 100 pieces of .45 ACP from 20 years ago as well, I guess they go in the can too. 😞

    New 6BR chambering test

And the time wasted which was a year and a half with no good results. The new smith gets the nod for future chamberings with quick turn around time.

    Cases splitting / 38 Super

I had some old loads I made about 20 years ago. I fired them today over the Xero to check speeds. I had some 130 hardballs and 145 grain flat nose, both was using w231 and Blue Dot. Speeds with the 130 is 1175 fps ave and the 145 flat nose with Blue Dot is about 1150 average. About 20% of the...

    New 6BR chambering test

This 30 inch Bartlien barrel has gone through its 3rd rechamber, first and second chamber did not go too well when a new gunsmith did my rifle work. Had very heavy bolt lift on the 6 BR,and terrible carbon issues on the Dasher afterwards. He did not set the barrel back, he used a Dasher reamer...
