Scotty hooked me on a holster. Ordered but haven’t received it yet.
My 45 Colt bear persuader is 4227 with a 335 WFN hard cast. Haven’t found enough jugs to catch one yet.
A CZ 22 I have is flat fun and accurate too.
Believe it or not many a groundhog and other varmint around the farm fell to the old 788 in 6mm Rem. Pretty much shot everything with that rifle for 6 or 7 years.
Maybe this will help

Or you can pony up 6.99 here (may be well spent :grin: )

Fotios;
I stuck this up somewhere but missed your thread.

I have to think that’s a very good answer.
To the OP’s question.
Scotty gave the answer on the 40 degree shoulder. Supposedly less burn in the throat although plenty of us have seen fire come out of barrels in the dusk. :grin: So who knows? Less stretch for sure. You sure don’t trim 40 degree...
It is a cool cartridge. I agree registering w SAAMI would be good.
But I don’t think it’ll happen.
My rationale, and I may be completely wrong, but it’s now a “tweener “.
Here’s why. Nosler already has the 26. Weatherby has the 6.5-300. Winchester has the 264 WM. GAP has the 4S. All exceed what...
Have you tried lighter bullets? It may prefer them and frequently the speed increase will offset the b.c. discrepancy, at least to 800 or perhaps even further. I kind of think too many default to the heavies when a lighter bullet may do as well or perhaps better. But maybe that’s just me. :grin...
Here’s a pretty good deal on a FFP illuminated reticle scope by the way. (No financial interest)

FWIW, I ran some of the 240 AFrames through mine. It’ll move a 240 along nicely. Accuracy was pretty good although I ended up running the 280 AFrame just because. :grin:
Nothing wrong with your choice at all. I like Vortex scopes and have quite a few.
FWIW, if you have a chance, take a look at the new Diamondback Tactical line that came out a few months ago. I picked up a couple 4x16 although I use mil versus moa but moa is offered. My reason in mentioning these...
