I look forward to the day I can put iron sights on a rifle, and have those same iron sights deliver a 6x, bright, clear view that also provides a compensation for different ranges.

And I loaded up some for the 25-06 and 110 ELDX
0.03 off the lands. I loaded between 52.6 to 54.6 in 0.2 gr increments to check and see if there's a consistent velocity node in there. The Alliant loading data doesn't list the 110, but it lists a max for a 100 BT at 56.5 and a max at 51.5...
I was really surprised at the case fill for the 30-06.
I wanted to try the 200 Hornady ELD-X in the wood stock 30-06. Here's a picture of the bullet at the lands. I held another bullet next to the case for comparison.
Here's 63 grains of RL26 in the case. It is pretty dense; it comes to...
In my opinion one of the downsides of the Lee CD, of which I have at least three (for four cartridges for which I load), is the brass needs annealed regularly for successful results.
I think highly enough of the Lee CD I have had Lee make me custom Dies for wildcats.
Without being there...
How many times has the brass been loaded/fired using the Lee CD? I find the Lee needs brass annealed every three or four firings for good neck tension.
Not saying this is your cause, I’ve not played with ABLRs.

I couldn’t find any local to me, and the three places that sell powder in town said they wouldn’t order it for me. One of the dumbest things I’ve heard. I understand hazmat fees, but if you are out of some popular powders I would think you would want to order those for the sales.
So I ordered...
Started load development for the 25-06 and 110 ELD-X today. I have previous really good results with 54 grains H4831 and the 110 Accubond...so of course I started with Retumbo.
10 shot velocity node development:
57.2 3225
57.4 3232
57.6 3203
57.8 3236
58.0 3240
58.2...
I made it back to the range today, a beautiful, rare not windy March day in Cheyenne!
I had previously completed the 10 round load development work with H4350 (see above) and 56.6 gr H4350 looked about in the middle of a node. Should be about 2815 fps. Two weeks ago I loaded up some 180 ABs...
I'm starting to think, not really 10-shot load development.
But to find a velocity node, it only took 5 shots today.
H4350
Nosler cases
CCI 200 primers
180 Accubond 0.075 inches off lands
Charge Velocity
56.2 2829
56.4 2818
56.6 2815
56.8 2813
57.0...
Yesterday a trip to the range with Hunter and 180 PTs resulted in so-so accuracy at 200 yards, a 2.5 inch 5-shot group. I went back again today and a similar test resulted in a 4-inch group.
But I have plenty of H4350 and 180 Accubonds too—I have to switch to some other powder with Accubonds...
I think he means it looks like you are going to run out of case capacity before you get near 62 grains. I've never seen RL powder before, so possible that it's denser (weighs more per material amount) and so more grains will fit in a 30-06 case. Donno. At 62 grains you are above 117% fill.
