That's sure sweet! You gotta love those Ruger #1's! I sure do. Both of mine shoot great also and with Partitions no less!
My Partitions agree with your Partitions! It's such an iconic combination you have there. Ruger single shot, 180 gr. Partition, and the 300 H&H, what more do you need!
Make a log-on account at SPS and watch for seconds and over-runs. Really good prices too.

I loved the 280 Remington I had and I love the 280AI I had built. If I had to go with just one it would be the 280AI. After all I shot my grizzly bear with it which was a once in a lifetime hunt for an amazing animal. But then I also shot my largest bull elk with my 280 Remington. Dang...
Cabela's Missoula Montana: I was just in there and they are selling Federal 210 Match primers for $10.00 and a bit more for 100 primers. The small pack! Wow.
I've had a couple bags of 6mm Remington Winchester brass (50 rounds each) sitting on the shelf in my reloading room that I've had for maybe 4 years and just got around to prepping them to be loaded. In doing this prep work I found that out of 100 rounds of brass that I was truing up that 32 of...
My 280AI has a 24" barrel. If I had my way the 280 Remington I had previous to this build would have had a 24" barrel on it also. That one was a factory 700 MTN rifle with the 22' factory barrel yuck! I say go 24!
I think I'm very lucky to have 3 Unicorns. I hope it's allowed to have more than one. I couldn't just pick one out of the three because they each are special.
Ruger 1B 6mm Remington Oh man I love this rifle. Shoots great and just love hunting with it.
Ruger 1B 30-06 Same as...
Nice job Dan! I think you have a winner there!
Maybe here's what's next up!!!
130 gr. Partition or Accubond
H4831SC using Federal 215 magnum primers to work up a load.
Probably end up in the 58-60 gr. range where I bet you will find a great load for your rifle.
Good luck and keep us up to...
Really pretty rifle in a great cartridge. I think you should keep working on the stock bedding and get it so it's got a little clearance all the way down from about 3" out in front of the chamber. I sure see the potential. IMR4350 and 165 gr. Accubonds & Partitions really liked 57.4 grains...
What's not to like Jim a 280AI and a Nosler bullet smoking along at 3000 fps. Now isn't that Nosler bullet quite something? Same can be said for the the super fine 280AI. Sure love that cartridge in my Winchester Model 70 I had built.
