I handload the 45 Super with a goal of only 700 FPE same as my 10mm heavy loads. For the width of the largest interior grizzly I will have no problem with enough penetration with the correct bullets. I have had excellent results with CAMPRO 250gr RNFN . Yes I like the bigger hole especially on...
338-06
338 Win mag
340 WBY
338 RUM
338 Lapua
Carried the 338 Win Mag the most in Alaska with 225gr Accubonds and Part.
My 338 RUM in REM 700 XCR great carry gun.
My 338 Lapua stand gun only for Tripod at 14lbs for moose stand hunting very accurate.
338-06 loved the round especially with...
In the Lapua I see they recommend 97.0 of Grand Powder with 250’s for just over 3000 fps.
Noticed with LRT with 250’s were over 3100 fps…I know this is just published data and not real world . My goal is just 3000 fps in either RUM or Lapua with 250’s.
I see that on burn chart !
Up here in Interior I don’t see any H1000 or Retumbo on the shelves but RamShot LRT and Grand are. I bought a pound of Grand to try in the RUM and Lapua with the 250’s.
Yes I also went to a RCBS Chargemaster when they were first introduced in 2007 still have my Chargemaster along with my RCBS 10-10 scale as backup or small batches of reloading .
Put the Bronze Mesa Lapua in the CA MPR Bronze chassis topped it with ZEISS V4 4x16 x44mm.
Kinda like to try some 300 gr Nosler Accubond LR in my stability Calculator their 3.66 out 4.00 very good.
I went from a 44 Mag to the Glock 20 about 13 years ago for Bear Protection in Alaska and about 3 years ago purchased a G21 Gen 4 and set it up to handle 45 Super + P. Liked it so much it’s my primary sidearm in Bear Country the 45 Super.
I am sure it was appease the left side of audience.
I have Gucci G20 Gen 4 and G21 Gen 4 and no need for any more very happy with my Glocks as trail pistols in Alaska.
