After 21 years with my model 70 stainless in STW I've decided its time for a re-barrell.
Going to get a 24 inch stainless, fluted ,chamber it in 300 Win Mag with as close to the factory contour as possible. Also getting shop to replace factory trigger with a Timney.

I shot this buck this afternoon today with my 300 RUM and a 150 grain Accubond. Used the G7 rangefinder to get the correct MOA for the 552 yard shot. The buck dropped on the spot I hit him in the right shoulder and was still alive when I got up to him so he got one more in the neck.

Hi Sask boy, don't get discouraged about building points depending on what type of draw system being used you can draw a tag even though its your first year. If you have a desire for a certain species apply cuz you'll never draw if you don't.
