    H4895 vs IMR4895

Two completely different powders. You’ll need to start all over again and do ladder tests.

    NOSLER FACTORY BLEMS

I haven’t had an issue with Nosler blems. I have some at home currently in quite a few different configurations. I have some horn ones that were smaller diameter than factory though. I tell you if you buy them just pull a caliper out and check the diameters. To be fair I’ve had non-blems under...

    This leupy is no good!

My 7600 35 whelen is on its 3rd optic. Barrel came loose twice and killed the Nikons from vibration. Trying a vortex 2.5-10 30m viper on it now. All of 6 shots with it installed so far. Time will tell. At least the pump slide is now locked in place with blue loc tite along with the uncle mikes...

    This leupy is no good!

The vx5 2-10 they sent me to replace it is pretty awesome. Knock on wood. I did notice the finish was coming off around the eye adjustment bell right out of the box, but I wasn’t gonna send back another optic until I had a chance to test it. I’ll probably touch it up with a marker and call it a...

    This leupy is no good!

Those are the same but three in a row that they sent me that were all defective. Probably a great optic. If it would’ve adjusted in the crosshairs, we screwed up two times in a row.

Group testing my Remington 7600 carbine in 35 Whelen with 180 grain hot cores

Thanks to an awesome member here that ran quick loads for me. Apparently, my load is faster than what I thought it was. I would guess loading it shorter at 3.030” vs the listed 3.040” length on Hodgens load data website must have gave it a velocity gain. Great to hear. Call have to run it across...

    Thompson Center coming back

My Omega shoots ridiculously accurate with 150 grain of tripple 7 pellets and the original 300 grain shock wave. First three shot group all went in a .2” hole at 100 yards! I bought a 2.5-10 Nikon Monarch when they first offered the BDC reticle. I had to call Nikon to get the drop measurements...

Lipsey's Ruger 77 in 35 Whelen! (not buying it)

That’s the factory laminate stock set from around 04’ era. The gun came with a composite set, which I put aside. My dad’s 35 Rem carbine back in 04’ I believe had a wood set and I swapped it at Lypsy’s or Gryce’s, remember which one I got it from for him, $80 bucks to swap to the gray laminate...

Lipsey's Ruger 77 in 35 Whelen! (not buying it)

My whelen is the grey laminte carbine. It currently has a vortex 2.5-10 30mm on it and uncle Mike’s swivels. I have a grey laminte twin to it in 35 rem. Both limited runs. The long barreled is my 84’ 30-06. Was bought brand for me new back then. It now has a DNZ mount and 2-10 vx5. Sure...

Lipsey's Ruger 77 in 35 Whelen! (not buying it)

I’ve got a new in the box Ruger gun site scout in 450 bushmaster I sure would like to trade for one

    165gr vs 180gr Partition

That explains why the 180s blow through everything even when I use cup and core and also ballistic tips in my 300 RUM at almost point blank directly below my tree stand. I remember shooting a nice big 10 pointer directly below my stand running by with a ballistic tip out of my 300 rum. I got rid...

308 Winchester 165 gr Solid Base Whitetail Country

Beats doxycycline I’m on because I got limes disease for the second time the other day.

308 Winchester 165 gr Solid Base Whitetail Country

I just like thanks for the heads up. Looks like they’re pretty proud of the blems. Natchez shooters I see have my 180 grain .308 BTs for $23.99. I have too much of that stuff laying around already that I’ll never shoot up. Maybe I’ll have to horse trade for some of the stuff I’ve got laying around.

    Winchester primer

Took about three months to get a check back from them last time when I had some defective 22 WMR ammo. That was probably 5 to 6 years ago.

    Winchester primer

Must be nice. I’m going on close to three months now since I sent back a box of a 10000 defective 22 ammo and still waiting for a refund check.

308 Winchester 165 gr Solid Base Whitetail Country

I’d like to see a side-by-side test next to the partition, occupant and ballistic tip of the same velocity and weights. That bullet sure looks stout like a partition without the partition in the back! It looks tougher than most of Noslers other offerings but also sheds lead from the tip while...

Tough bullet! Looks like a penatrator to me.

    165gr vs 180gr Partition

I borrowed my 30-06 to a buddy at a game farm about 25 years ago and he shot a huge Russian boar. No idea on the weight but it was huge. I would say it was way over a couple hundred pounds. He 180 grain Accubond I had loaded up. That pig literally lifted off the ground and slammed to the...

    165gr vs 180gr Partition

Used the .308 180’s in my 30-06 at 2650 fps load data. Don’t know what the time if that was for a 24 or 26 inch barrel but I was shooting it out of a 22 inch. I also did a max load in my 375 rum with the 260 grain versions. I still have some of the 260’s left. I assume I have some of the 180s as...

    165gr vs 180gr Partition

Curious of where your shot placement is, high shoulder I’m guessing? All mine ran a football field length with heart and lung broadside shots. A high shoulder hit and they dropped but normally need to be finished off.
