I would use a bigger gun than the 30 carbine for deer hunting. Better be safe than sorry, plus it is more ethical to use a bigger rifle.

Hey DON, sorry about stealing the thread there for a while. Like everyone else stated I wouldn't worry about it either. Maybe try a lee crimp on the bullet and you could possibly put a primer sealant in the back and see if that will eliminate the powder smell coming from the bullet. GOOD LUCK!

Thank you everyone for the help. I did leave out one part of information though. When I was shooting off the bipod (and the bag) I was shooting out of the back end of my pickup. the bipod legs were in one of the ridges on the tale gate so the gun could not jump up in the air like it does off the...

I am holding the gun very firmly. But then again that might be my problem as well. I might be pulling when I am holding it to firmly? POP, I did free float the barrel and ever since then I have been getting good groups. shooting off the bi pod at too yards I pulled off a 3 shot group of .600...

Hey guy's, finally got some time to take the marlin xs7 308 win out today. The wind was blowing about 10-15 mph and it was about 40 degrees. But while I was shooting the rifle off the bi pod (pre loaded with a support in the back) I could not the any bullets to groups. I was shooting at 200...

Great way to sum everything up! it is truly amazing.

When I am shooting Ramshot hunter it smells like a really sweet grass smell. It reminds me of our cabin in the pryor mountains. Isn't funny how the human body can relate the smells of things so well.

I have to agree 100%, one of the best smells there are. :wink:

I just watched the video, I was hoping the BC of the bigger .30 cals would be higher, but they still aint bad.

NOPE! I saw those and it has been killing me because they dont list the bc of them! They should be more than the A-max bullets though, at least I would think so.

what is done to the action when it is blue printed and what would the cost be? Plus would the winchester model 70 black shadow be worth putting a new barrel on and having it blue printed? Or should I buy something like a remington 700 sps and have it all done to that?
