Don't have pics of the rifle but here's what it does at 500 - that's 4 shots inside of the business card I'm holding up against the target.
Rifle is a stock Weatherby Vanguard S2 243 24" barrel and some 90 gr AB's cooking downrange at 3175 fps.
I have a first-year Remington 700 in 25-06...
Since I have TWO 2506's, I loaded up some R-P cases up to 59.5 gr of 7977. The load is now at the bottom of the neck.
Got the truck loaded to head to the range when it started raining. Maybe next weekend. It would be nice if I could find good loads for BOTH of the rifles with the same powder!
Mine is similar to Fotis' - 43.5 gr IMR4360 @ 3200. Shoots .5" at 100 and under 2.5" @ 500
I found it interesting that at 500 yards, that first round punched through 3/8 AR500 steel plate!

Just pick the 270, bullet weight and powder.
if you consider a 'full' case as the powder is up to the neck, there's still room after putting 59 grains in. The powder was about 1/3 the way up the shoulder of the Hornady cases I was using. This old rifle has over 3000 rounds through it. COAL to the lands is 3.35 with the Accubond. I was at...
Managed to load up a few and try this new Enduron powder out with some 110 gr ABs.
Results were rather good in my book.
Started at 56 gr and worked up to 59 gr. At 58.5 I got a 3-shot group just under an inch. At 59 grains I got a 4-shot group that measured under .5"
I then loaded up 15 of...
Hunt with your Dad as much as you can. He won't be around forever! I miss my very best hunting partner (Dad) every time I go out or even THINK of going out.
That your Dad passed his rifle on to you shows his passion and knowledge that you are the best keeper of it's history and pass along the...
I'm guessing I didn't get too hurt on this one. All the tag said was "Model 70", so, I don't know which one I have. Out the door for $350 though (without the scope and base/rings).
Gun is a New Haven build. No idea how old/young it is or even what exact model.
Ok, I picked up a 1 pound of IMR4451 to try in my 25-06 without writing down what I needed. I was wanting something new to try with some 110 AB's. Checking Hodgden, they don't show the 110's, just 100's and 117's.
Could someone run QL with IMR 4451, Hornady brass, WLR and Nosler 110 AB's in a...
The Barnes 100 grains were the worst in 2 of my rifles - 25-06 and a 300 WM I tried them in. Cleaned them both out with Gunslick's Foaming Bore cleaner to get them clean.
Changed to some Nos 110 AB's in the 25 and sold the 300 (replaced it with a 264 WM). The AB's seem to be doing their job and...
Currently have 2 of the Vanguard S2. One in 7mm-08 and one in 243. The 7mm-08 likes the rather inexpensive Prvi Parvati 140 grain bullets putting 5 inside .75". With the reloads, it squeezes 5 shots into .5".
The 243 is the shooter of the two. Two loads - 90gr AB and 85gr Partition print to the...
Had a Blaser K-95 in 300 wsm quite a number of years back. Wish I'd never sold it :(
Of the two choices, I'd go with the Dakota if I had the scratch and those were my choices.
I have 6 of the Minox in various shapes. Round counts on 3 of them are nearing 1000 without a problem. I had one that I sent back for a focusing problem that was returned in 3 months (had to go to Germany I guess).
I've had them mounted on everything from a 223 up to the 300 WM.
As wayno945...
I am having good luck with RL 33 and the 142 LRAB as well as the 140 AB. Speeds aren't super-fast but 3100 is good enough when I get nickel-sized groups.
I managed to grab 2 boxes of .257/110's that Midway had. That should hold me through hunting season and the first couple of trips to the range in January. But, quite simply, I've been forced to switch to another brand on a couple of rifles because of lack of inventory.
Even if the bullets...
