It's kind of the draw back to the CDS system. Those differences listed would be the same if you used the same bullet, but shooting on a warm day vrs. a cold day. Or high elevation vs. low.
I have a CDS, but I left the MOA dial on it. I never got the custom one made, so I have my own drop...
No, there are two basic versions. The 280 Ack Imp, which Nosler got approved as a SAAMI standard, and a 280 Rem Imp, which is still a wildcat. Nosler ammo/brass only works with the SAAMI version.
I'm working towards a 280 AI re-barrel, but I think it's kind of a chambering for numbers...
60 grn Hornady VMAX work really well for be with Varget.
69 grn Sierra MatchKing also with Varget.
My Rem 700 VTR is a 1:9 twist. 69 grn is the heaviest I've tried with that thing.
 I was thinking the same thing. I've even scoped myself with my 270 win. It doesn't take much, or an odd angle shot, and the next thing you are wondering "why am I bleeding?"
Looks like an awesome weapon!
Cool find!
What a rookie! Everyone knows not to tell your wife how much gun powder you bought, unless she specifically asks "honey, did you go out and buy 6 lbs of RL15 today?".
I've actually never adjusted a load for different lots of powder. I've never noticed a difference in typical hunting range type accuracy. But I typically use book max, which tends to be conservative. If I was pushing pressure signs, then I would for sure check loads for different lots of powder.
I have an RCBS comp seater for my 223 Rem 700. But I only really use it for playing with new bullets. Otherwise I just use standard RCBS seating dies. And I've never ever measured concentricity.
Both my Rem 700's shoot well below MOA, with good bedding and one has a Timney trigger.
My Ruger...
Yeah, Winchester must be still going full swing on producing loaded ammo. I haven't seen any WW brass for a looooonnnnggggg time. But I see plenty of loaded Win ammo.
I probably have two more firings on my last 50 300 win mag Winchester brass. Then I'm out! I'll probably switch brands if I...
Exactly. Look at the Nosler site for bullet selection. ALL of the ABLR are out of stock, and most of the AB are cleaned out.
Berger has almost their while line of VLD bullets available. …just saying …not complaining.
Primer differences drive me nuts!
I don't get why if a primer can ignite the whole powder column, then how does a magnum primer give you anything more then a slightly greater charge gives you? I mean, as long as you have consistent ignition with standard primers, how is slightly more...
Some of those powders look pretty compressed to reach max pressure. RL19 and RL17 look pretty good (just looking at the data). I didn't see any data for IMR 4350, but I'd image it would work fairly well.
