WOW, that is great speed for the 175. It's a pretty compressed load (guessing your not using Redding Comp seating dies  ). But with that high BC, those things would sail.
The 168 looks like a pretty awesome load as well.
I really like the Hornady 60 grain V-Max. I think that would fit your needs for everything except for 'defense.' But they are pretty accurate.
69grn Sierra Match KIng are also great, very accurate but a bit more expensive.
I've never loaded the Nosler (forget what they are called) bonded…...
A lot of times I'll do a ladder, maybe across 2 grains up to max. I sometimes over think how to find a charge and seating depth that works. Do a ladder charge first? Or find an optimum seating depth first?
I'll admit to being lazy on a couple occasions. I've been known to pick the "Most...
I've been looking for a while now, and Cabelas on-line had some, I ordered 2 lbs. (they also has RL23, but I really haven't heard anything that interesting about that one).
I almost gave up looking. I had to eat the HAZMAT fee ($20), but I can live with it.
This will be for test loads for a...
I hear a lot of testosterone going here, with the high power rigs. My last one went out cleanly with a 60 grain 224 Hornady V-Max. Velocity… unknown.
One important thing to remember, when you look through that scope, and it looks like you clear the chrono by a couple inches easy… the rifle...
It'll be tough to beat that! Looks great.
180 grain will cover just about anything. I kind of like the 200 grain Partitions though. This year I'm playing with 220 grain Partitions, which also shoot great.
Lots of fun to be had with the 300 winnie!
Wow! I've been saving all these QL data requests for the 280AI, and that should been right in there. Somewhere in the low 50k psi.
It almost seems like velocity is your best measure. Between QL data, and book data, charge weight seems to be all over the place. But velocities seem to show...
It's easy. The nodes depends on barrel length.
So, for a 26" barrel, node 4 is 1.19 ms. Node 5 is 1.33 ms. So look at the column all the way to the right in those QuickLoad charts, and it gives you "B_Time.' That's what you are looking at.
Nothing wrong with that at all. My 270 win has served me very well. It's a classic cartridge, and the powders/bullets available these days make it deadly!
7828ssc looks pretty good. RL26 also looks very interesting, particularly for the 168 grainers.
Im looking forward to hearing about folks experience with RL 23, and the new IMR 7977. I know QL doesn't have data yet for 7977, but it looks like it may fit right in there.
The ADL would be fine, but the scope is where you'd loose money. It likely won't be good enough to depend on.
If I recall, the difference between the Axis and Axis II is the II has an adjustable trigger.
Probably the Ruger A, and Savage Axis II would be roughly equal in quality. I have a RA...
I've only shot one deer with a 130 grn BT with my 270 win, and I did get quite a bit of blood shot for some reason. Maybe at 100 yards or just under. Just a "sample of one," but I'll put that out there as a data point.
I've taken a couple with 140 grn AB in my 270, and they were clean kills...
Wow!
Another 280AI load using mag primers. Hmmm, I bought a brick of 210's just for a 280AI build. Maybe I was mistaken.
I'd really like to try the 168 grn ABLR, but I'm a bit concerned about the supply line. Hopefully we start seeing more on the shelves. The 168 grn Bergers look like a...
