I think I could be happy with a .280 and the stout 150 Ballistic Tip for all of the big game hunting I would do here in NA. Antelope up to Elk.

Rem 870 compact camo 20 gauge with 21" vent rib barrel. Had my gunsmith drill and tap the receiver for a rail, and added an Aimpoint 9000SC red dot. With Rem factory turkey choke and Federal HeavyWeight 3" #7's it has not failed to put a bird down within 45 steps. (Haven't shot at one farther...
It's really no different than buying Nosler factory ammo. I doubt that they resize their factory brass before loading it.

I have purchased Nosler brass in three forms: factory firsts, factory over-runs, and factory seconds.
The only thing I have done is run the factory seconds over the expander ball in my due to remove any dings in the neck, because they're shipped in plastic bags.
They all are just primed...
For me,
.223 for varmints
20 gauge with Fed Heavyweight #7's for gobblers
And my 6.5 SAUM fills the bill for everything I'd hunt here in North America.

Heating that IN may just amend it yet this year to allow anything between a .243 and .308 bullet. Which would make my 6.5 and 7mm rifles very happy!!

Current regs allow for a rifle firing a bullet of .243 or .308 on private land. Can use a 30-30 or a .300 Weatherby! If public land hunting, still need to abide by the 1.800" case length and minimum .358 bullet diameter. So I kept my 358 Hoosier just in case.

Got a great deal on a GAP Non-typical in .308 Win. SS 3-9x42 in seekins rings and now to load up some ammo!!! Thinking some white tails will hit the dirt this November!

Those were out of a 260 Rem at about 2,800 fps muzzle velocity. Antelope at 235 and mule deer at 300 yds.
Here's last years buck at about 75-80 yards with a 130 VLD out of a 6.5 SAUM.
