Couple thoughts as I read the last two pages-
“Brush Busting” is a terrible idea if it refers to shooting through actual brush. You are begging for poor hits. But if it refers to shorter range shooting then I’m all in.
Last weekend me, a nephew and a farmer with a bad foot all sallied forth...
Took a weekend to fill my Utah swan tag. One shot from a Winchester sx2 and 3.5 inch federal number 2 and it came down well hit. I saved the skin for taxidermy and took the breasts and other misc meat for jerky. All my waterfowl goes into jerky at end of the season.
I’m sorry it didn’t work out-I have three girls that hunt and we are heavy on 7mm-08’s in our house. They all shoot very differently and like different feed. I would’ve suggested the 120 grain Sierra pro hunter hand loaded but you’ve already moved on….
There are so many reviews and videos on...
The box says” made in Sweden “and “ultra velocity soft point”
Interestingly the “grain” is not stamped on my box (bought as a collection item) and you can see the price handwritten on the box
I don’t remember either of those specifically but I do remember the red and black frontier boxes of ammo-I think by hornady although I don’t know what bullet they were loaded with-and back then I don’t remember it being a big conversation. But I was young so maybe I missed some of that banter

No-I’ve shot a .375 wby a good deal tho. . . I dont mean that comment to be rude or as a negative, it’s just that recoil gets way too much consideration when selecting a rifle/caliber for hunting.
I would stay with the .300 but like I said previously, the .30-06 with a 165 or 180 accubond would...
Raise your hand if you actually notice recoil when shooting at an animal. And practicing on the range you can use
Light loads. I would load the .30-06 with 165 or 180 Accubonds and never look back. But I would t abandon the .300 wm or wsm either. . .
My very first deer was killed with dads marlin .30-30 and I have no idea what kind of ammo. . .
Afew years ago I bought my own Winchester model 94 “classic” and I think this is the only deer I’ve shot with it. Hornady flex tip handload. Wish I had more opportunities to use it, really a fun...
H4350 and RL-17 would be my go to powders for the 7mm-08. I do have some good loads with Big Game. I’m shooting 140-150 grain bullets with these powders in multiple rifles.
In a youth model marlin rifle rl-15 and 120 gr bullets was best. With lighter bullets don’t overlook bl-c2!
I hope you...
