I love it, it's so dang comfortable and stable it's unreal. It is a heavy stock, however. My rifle with bipod, sling and ammo weighs in at 15.5lbs, it's a bit of a beast to pack. I need to seriously look at an eberly stock pack for it
Going through my phone this evening, I found this video of a shot I took with my .300 Win. Mag. It's cold bore with my standard set up, Leica 1600, Kestrel 2500, Applied Ballistics software and my trusty .300 with 215 Berger's. I love the challenge and science of making cold bore first round...
I've seen the videos that seem to be exaggerated, it's a shame people will lie like that. I posted a video of my buddy taking an antelope at 1,034 and I could see how people might mistake it after slight editing. For grins, here is the edited and unedited videos. Videos are through a Swarovski...
Nice rig! My vote for loads is H1000 and the 215 Berger. You can get decent accuracy with the 210 ABLR, it is pretty finicky to load for in my experience. The ABLR does well terminally as well in my experience.
They hybrids were originally designed as target Bullets (all Bergers were originally) the .30 Cal 215gr and the 338 300gr Berger have been used for hunting with great success by various sources, there's pages upon pages of documented kills with information and pictures on a thread on...
Both have worked well for me on game, I've gone to the 215 Hybrid because I get higher velocity with the same powder charge, probably due to the shorter bearing surface, the BC is significantly higher, and you don't have to chase your rifling as aggressively with the 215's as you do with the...
Glad you guys are finding it useful. It was fun to see the difference in the Bullets in as controlled of a fashion as possible when hunting.
I'm with Guy and disappointed to see the Hornady perform the way it did, I had better expectations for it.
Sorry I didn't get pics of wounds on the...
Alright, so earlier this year I mentioned the plan to get elk with the 215 Berger Hybrid, 210 ABLR, and 212 ELD-X and me along with my two buddies managed to get two with each bullet on some late season cows. All were shot from the same rifle, all loaded with H1000 and all at 2,960-3,000FPS...
215 Bergers get my vote. Load it with H1000 at 2,900-3,000fps. Used them on elk and antelope this far, from 60-1,034 yards, awesome performance on game, can't beat the accuracy and precision either.
