Psalms 127 "Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: And the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; So are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: They shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Amen my brother.
Up to a certain point, I could care less about velocity. Now, if my hunting style dictated long range, 3-4-5 hundred yards I may be more interested in flattening the trajectory curve but my shots are within 100 yds, most times, half that or less, for deer, I don't think the...
Ive been an aught 8 fan for a long time but only an owner of one for the past 5-6 yrs. I find them quite handy in the somewhat tight confines of a blind and really handy in a ladder or climbing stand.
The milder recoil and bullet availability make these rifles just about perfect for most of the...
I have a Diamondback on my Muzzleloader. As already noted, they are decent scopes for the money. Glass is clear, sharp and they track & hold zero. They do just fine for my hunting style with a muzzleloader.
I have tried a good many different sabots in my CVA Optima V2 LR. What I found to work the best for me were the Harvester Short Black sabots. I tried the Harvester Crush Rib sabots and accuracy suffered.
I have some Crush Rib sabots left over. If you would like to have them, send me a PM with...
Never tried any 4350 in my aught 8. Ive used Varget, H414, IMR 4895 and Big Game. All have worked very well.
Im currently working on a Big Game powder load with a 139 gr SST that is showing promise. Ive got 10-12 more loaded up to hopefully get to the range Saturday and prove previous results...
Yes sir, 100 yds. I am trying to put together a 139 SST load for my 7-08. I'll be loading a few more and see if I can duplicate my previous results.
Its been really nice in my neck of the woods lately. Hate to rub it in but it's suppose to be 68-74 degrees most of all next week. The last...
The "majority" was from those I talked with. Your mileage may vary tho.
Isn't it grand that we have choices and can find combo's that work the best in our rifle...
Carry on friend.
7 aught 8 rifle and yes, a Winchester magnum primer to get the Big Game powder moving.
I know that a magnum primer in the 7 08 goes against conventional thinking. Magnum primers may not be useful or needed in a lot of recipes, but talking with people that use Magnum primers with Big Game in...
Instead of buying 7-08 brass I took some of my many 308 brass and necked them down. Wall neck thickness came in at about 12-13 thou, loaded case neck diameter came in around .314-.315.
Since it's been around 65-68 degrees the past few days and looking like a little warmer in the coming days I got to the range today to test a few loads.
This is looking like it might be the one.
