Hi and welcome. I just had a lot of fun with a 25-06. There are tons of guys here, very knowledgeable and experienced with this round. They got amazing results out of their guns as well. For me, I will let them give you detailed feedback as they are better suited than myself. I will say the...
They are a great tool to have for sure. The weight savings from the standard to the carbon is pretty good, but in all honestly I don't know if the added cost makes sense. I'm glad I have them, especially on days we walk a lot but I was certainly questioning it when I got them haha.
I never knew this about Christensen. They are hands down one of my favorite off the shelf rifles. I have 5 of them in total and all are amazing guns. Maybe I'm lucky??
6.5 PRC FFT, super lightweight and a great shooter!
300 wsm Ridgeline - It shoots anything I feed it and well, we call it...
I run the nickel covered jags from Tipton and have no worries. I like Butch's solvent and the old jags turned my patches solid blue every time. So when i ran my borescope down the barrel it was always in my mind that I didn't get it all lol
Wife counted my levers, she came up with 38. It honestly feels like I have more than that though. It may take me some time to list them all out because I need to go gun for gun and check them haha. I’ll post a couple pictures though. Some I took, some I already had. Some I’ve modified to what...
I’ll also chime in on the death grip tripod. I got a set for my wife and daughter. It was a major improvement over the trigger monopod I had for stability. I bought a standard set then got the carbon set because I’m the one carrying them and wanted the weight savings. They aren’t heavy, but...
I do a lot of shooting. For form, for load development, for testing equipment etc.. That is why I worry about all these copper bullets, but supposedly the Barnes TSX and TTSX are the worse. I see such good results from them, I often think it's worth the chance though lol. Especially since I...
When using OGIVE i refer to it as CBTO instead of COAL. Case Base To Ogive vs Case Over All Length. I hear of so many people having great results with the TTSX in many calibers. I also hear about how hard they are on your barrel. I've been stuck in dead center on them and am yet to even try...
Amazing picture! I love rams, big reason why I drink so much Shiner Bock.. jk! Welcome. I'm new as well. This group of guys have been the most pleasant people to associate with. They all seem very knowledgeable and willing to help.
That's great shooting. My goal in this endeavor is for hunting first and to better my shooting at closer ranges second.
I'm going to want to practice the same way I'll be using it. I agree, shooting for vitals is my focus. I guess I never thought about your steel not having a bullseye on it.
One of the "camp hobbies" me and my family have is inspecting the carnage of our shot. Half the time someone is taking a picture of the heart and lungs as we field dress just to show it at camp. Then we do our skinning party and everyone wants to see what the entry and exit looks like, if no...
You make shots with a pistol, further than i can with a rifle. I don't know how you even see the bullseye 400 yards out with 18 power scope haha. I apparently have a lot to learn here.
Great shooting! Based on feedback form some of you on this forum, my opinion would probably be different of the 308 had I been around you guys haha. It's so rooted in me now, who knows.
I think they were PowerPoints now that you mention that. He doesn’t have the personality or the patience to learn how to reload. He’s big into archery, and hunts with a rifle just for extending his season and to ensure he has meat in the freezer.
I could see that transpiring for sure. The study they did and the data they collected is much more in depth than any testing I have done, which has been very high level and unofficial in recording lol. The bullet shoots nice, my barrel seems to stay clean longer so I’m my mind, it’s working...
I’ve always used a SFP because I’m often on low power while hunting around here. I can see how that could be an issue with a target 500 yards out like some of your videos of you shooting. I can only imagine the reticle is covering a large portion of your target. I’m going to start looking at...
I've never done an official study of any sort, but I have been shooting the SilverTip Ballistic for years now. I absolutely maintain a cleaner barrel for sure and when I made the switch these did shoot slightly faster. It's one of my favorite bullets to shoot, toss up between these and...
