    I’m Through

This is the key, it's all funded by the usual suspects to make things look worse than they are. The actual number of people who believe in this stuff is much smaller than people think. The only protests that are real have been the trucker and farmer protests in recent years which is why they...

    Speer 7mm 175 Deep Curl, and Hot-Cor Mag-Tips.

Both are good bullets, maybe one day you'll load some up just for fun. Both would be awesome for elk and moose.

    Trail camera recommendations

I ended up getting a pair of Muddy trail camera's on sale at our local Canadian Tire. Pretty happy with them so far but I hope those bears leave them alone! My other one had a lot of action so will take a while to get it together. Eventually I'll try and do some narration with them.

270 WSM Ladder Test with Sierra 140G GameChanged Tip

You should have something to work with in that top cluster of bullets. I almost went with the 270 WSM but then the 6.8 Western came out. Still have dies for it and was thinking the other day a Browning BLR would be quite nice to own. It certainly is a fine cartridge and gets lots of speed with...

    Experiences with 8MM's

Congratulations on your bear he's a beauty. The 8x68 is a pretty potent round and that RWS brass will last forever when you start reloading. When I guided mountain goats I had a guy shoot one with that exact same factory load. I'm out again tomorrow afternoon for bear.

    Different style Accubonds?

I've just used a coarse file and then cleaned it up at the end with some fine sandpaper or emery cloth.

Host of BC Hunting show convicted for poaching

This isn't a case where a guy made an honest mistake, I know a couple of guys that happened to and no one thinks twice about it. This guy has numerous infractions in BC and Alberta and they are the kind where it's impossible to have made an honest mistake. Oh well he will have to pay for all...

Host of BC Hunting show convicted for poaching

An update to this. Instead of taking responsibility for the many infractions they commited they are going full victim mode instead. https://vancouversun.com/news/bc-conservation-officer-denies-allegations-from-hunting-show-host

35 Whelen or 9.3x62 and why?

It's very similar to comparing a 270 Win to 280 Rem. Not much difference except one can shoot heavier bullets. The 9.3x62 has a lot more heavyweight bullets but the 35 Whelen will shoot flatter with its lighter bullets. I used to want to shoot heavy 35 cal bullets but bullets in the 200-250...

    Night force. NX8 vs Leupold

I appreciate your input and your good natured demeanor as well. I've seen on that other forum how pig headed they can be on things I know they are wrong so don't trust them necessary on something I don't have as much experience on like scopes for longer range shooting. I've watched the Barbour...

    Night force. NX8 vs Leupold

You have lots of experience so what would be your choices for durable scopes that work as they should and hold zero? On the Rokslide forum they pretty much claim that SWFA, Nightforce and Trijicon are the only ones worth looking at and the rest are junk. There might be a few others they seem to...

    .280 Rem. Mountain Rifle

Welcome from me as well. You have gotten some excellent advise from the guys. Any good bullet from a 280 Rem will work well for moose. I've taken a bunch over the years with a number of cartridges but not the 280 yet. I have two friends who use the 280 and they used 150 -175 gr bullets for...

Favourite cartridges based off the H&H Case?

308 Norma Magnum for me. Still the best designed belted 30 cal magnum in my opinion. Shot my first caribou and mountain goat with it. Took a bunch of moose and bear too. 270 Weatherby would be next, never shot one but always have been intrigued by it. A 160 gr Partition at 3100 fps would be...
