i've read that about the 500 series powders on being barrel burners regardless of some being less temp sensitive/stable. i do have some 160 & 165 powders to try for my larger magnums and may try some in the 5.6prc & 7saum?
what weight was shot? from 50 yards to 100 i don't see much difference in drop using 135 to 155's in 4-6" barrels. kinda like my 357sig shooting 90-125's at 100 yards also. both are fairly flat. wednesday my velociradar comes in so i can finally check my handloads.
reduced recoil can be made in many forms! powder and bullet weights are the biggest 2 that WILL have a reduced effect. a lighter faster moving projectile will do this as a heavier bullet moving slower with the SAME m.e. has a reduced effect on recoil. faster burning powders that produce...
In the pre64 I used that combo in i decided after 2,500+ rounds thru it to not shoot it any more. I've got around 3# left and for my 2 other 264wm 's I'll be using other powders. I bought a post64 in '15 or '16 that only has 3 rounds down the pipe and 1 i built on a 110 action for the...
what are you using blue dot in? i don't reload shotgun, so i use it in a few pistol cartridges. when you can reload 500-700 rounds per # one thinks he'll never run out? i guess if they never make any more and you continue to use bb, then you will at some point. i only was able to obtain...
before so many alliant powders were becoming unavailable or less available alliant was going to introduce rl13. i never found any info on what cartridges it would be used in or if it were like 15.5,m 16, 23 & 26 type as a "more green" powder?
33, 19 and 10x (6-8# of each) are what i have the most in on alliant as 15, ar-comp, 17, 22 and 25 all have 2# or less left. i'm transitioning into vv powders since my favorite imr4831 is all but gone. probably saving the 17 for 308 and 7-08 and 22 and 25 for i'm not sure which cartridge(s)...
you have more will power than i do and glad for you! i'm about 5'9" and weighed 225 for decades. i've lost 35# due to pain keeping me from eating.............i'd rather be overweight than live the way i'm right now! i used to be able too workout when i had the time, but baling alfalfa...
with the 30tc being a creed i guess i could go 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 30creed, ie 30tc for all gaps and maybe 20cal. if wikipedia is correct, then the 30tc is the parent case? 30tc has (listed) about 1,400psi less on max pressure than the creed line, but close enough. 250savage is...
not just a cartridge gap, but a complete caliber gap for many decades until the last 5 years.
about 10 years ago i didn't have any 30cals as i only had 1 26cal and 2 22cals. between the 10 to year gap i added 1 24cal, multiple 26cals, 3 27cals and 1 33/338cal (whichever way you look at it)...
