Technical question regarding temperature and powders.

My best groups have been in the cold. Only when the temps are over 90F do i see variations. I am not a 600 yard hunter however.

I Messed up on Ear Protection

My dad was taught in Korea while training on artillery that you just get used to it. His only help was cigarette filters. He was frustrated by hearing aids later in life. My friend shoots with a brake. It is worst when under the roof of the range. Even double up hurts some. I wish suppressors...

Setting Up a Safe and Effective Home Target Practice Area?

My Granddad has a range in the basement that ran under the sidewalk to the stand alone garage. It also served as an escape from the basement. He shot 22 and air. He did not have ventilation, unknown issue at the time. Local pistol range under the town pool was shut down due to high lead. Check...

    Why reloading is satisfying (sometimes)

Another example of extreme differences in results using a 25-270 rifle. 115 grain plain base cast bullet with Max load of Trail Boss at around 1000 fps-- tumbling at 50 yards 120 Grain jacketed unknown brand bullets from yard sale, 3000 fps at 100 yards

    Why reloading is satisfying (sometimes)

A rifle my Grandad made for my mom from things he had lying about. It is a Remington Model 722 that had been a 222. My Grandad rebored it and rechambered to 7x57, a popular "girl's gun" at the time. Since it has chamber length limitations he use the improved chamber to make up for the shorter...

    Why reloading is satisfying (sometimes)

22" barrel. 41 grains at 2495 fps. Looks like I can increase the powder charge and try some more. The bullets are 50 years old. I may have to buy another box.

My shoulder feels like that is what just happened 😂

30-06 M2 Ball loads with Ramshot Hunter?

My dad thought the 03-a3 was plenty strong for modern loads. His dad reamed one to 338 Win Mag and my Dad happily hunted Elk with it for a long time. Currently I shoot full power loads in a 1928 Springfield. Have heard certain older ones needed some extra investigation due to heat treatment of...

    What to do...powder dispensing

Love my Chargemaster Link. Always on the money for a few hundred rounds, then needs a quick cleaning and back in business. It's made reloading much more fun.
