Big Game Rifles & Loaded Rounds ?

I have been polishing a couple hundred 6mm Rem. Cases and it got me to thinking the best thing I ever did was buy 500 pieces of brass for my 700 BDL 6mm REM. I wish I had bought a couple hundred for my 300 H&H Mag as it is hard to come by these days and even though Nosler just released some...

    Remington 742. Optic Choice ?

Well I went with the Burris as I also know as in the past some shots come close Whitetail Hunting. I will say the Weaver did serve my father ok on Deer & Antelope. Now I will be loading up some 150gr loads with IMR 4064 and wait for the weather to warm up and we will see how it does.

    Remington 742. Optic Choice ?

Weaver has the better low light.

    Remington 742. Optic Choice ?

Looking at two scopes a Weaver 4x or Burris 1 3/4 x5 power what would you put on a Remington 742 30-06. The Weaver is the brightest and best image as the Burris has the widest field of view. Both are 1980’ s Vintage Scopes. I plan on this being a Black Beer and Timber Rifle where shots...

95 grain Ballistic Tip failure on a whitetail

I had a situation with 100gr BTSP from Hornady and by like you I said I was going to not use them on Deer any more. Well fast forward I had a Box left over that I had reloaded in my 6mm Rem and Iowa has an excess Doe only season so I thought what the Hell let’s see what happens. I was presented...

    Picked up another Glock.

I think you will enjoy it as well. I was late to the whole Glock parade. I had and am a Colt .45 Fan and Ruger Fan. When I picked up the Glock 19, I have found it to be a easy pistol to shoot well and very reliable. Enjoy

Any plans for a new rifle in 2025?

I have wants but no needs, and after last week finishing up a excessive tag for antler less deer hunt. I began to wonder if I ever need more rifle than my first rifle I ever bought. My Remington 700 BDL 6mm Rem. I will most likely never hunt Grizzly and I can say today I have never shot...

    Wyoming considers tag price hikes

I have said it before I truly feel my generation will likely be the last generation to enjoy hunting as it is getting to Stupid Pricing for Tags to Game Departments not Managing the resources correctly. I do not see a future for hunting IMHO.

    Best 20 for the money

My advice you get what you pay for and for $500 I would look for a 870 Remington. If you are sold on O/U save your money then look at GunBroker.com and search Ducks Unlimited or Pheasant Forever and you will find New Old Stock Guns at a Great Price. People win guns and have nothing in them...

    Lighter Recoil...

I think the next time I go hunting the 6mm Rem. Is coming out of the safe regardless of what I go hunting for. I guess I have no problem shooting my .264 Win Mag or 300 H&H Mag but I started with the 6mm REM and I enjoy it. Yes it is very light recoiling rifle.

    Pack out gear

Eberlestock Justone has worked for me from Elk to Caribou and Deer. There has been times I had to have help putting it on as it was so heavy but it has never failed.

    Vortex Razor 8x42 HD

I picked a pair up and with out a doubt the best Binoculars I have ever used. Now with one year with them I have had no problem with them and I don’t give an item a thumbs up unless I like it. Image is excellent and weight is perfect not to heavy or light. Glad I picked them up and an...

Can bullet weight alone make a big difference in precision, or powder?

My Model 70 300 H&H Mag with Factory loads of Winchester 150gr Silvertips would average 1.5-2.0 inch three shot groups at 100 yards but Winchester 180gr Silvertips were sub MOA. All I reload is 180gr Nosler Partitions or AB but I think I will try some Nosler 180gr BT next, but I will stick with...

Leupold let me down today ? But not Today 2

Well loaded 20 cartridges for 300 H&H Mag will give it another try in the am and if I can not get it sighted in on to the .264 Win Mag. Both guns were shooting good groups just not where I wanted the groups to be. The last group with the .264 Win Mag was on POI on the last group but I only...
