I'm pretty sure I've got two boxes of them. I would trade them for 257 Roberts brass or if its something you really need, I'll just send them to you and you can replace them when they become available.
......but if you cheat me, I'll have my Italian Mother-in-law curse your family for eternity. :)
I've been messing around shooting my .256 Newton. I've shot 125 grain Partitions and 130 grain Accubonds. So far, only with IMR 4350, from 44.5 up to 47 grains. I think 47 grains is probably a couple grains below max but as far as I'm going. Well at 100 yards I can shoot a group about 2 1/2"...
I managed to trade for another 100 pieces of new brass this morning. :)
It really is hard to imagine how something like brass for a .257 Roberts can be in such short supply. I bought the dies and .25 caliber bullets months ago, guess I should have been looking for brass too.
Thanks All!
With the exception of 7828, I have all the powders mentioned, it's nice to be well stocked!
Bruce, it's the blued version, from 1982 I think.
I do feel kinda bad about planning to shoot a rifle that someone kept unfired, in its box for 30+ years. I'll let you know how long it...
A new in box Rem 700 Classic in 257 Roberts. Since it isn't going to remain in its current NIB condition once I get my hands on it...
Still have to shop for glass.
Any load suggestions would be appreciated. I've only managed to find one bag of Winchester brass so far, but at least that'll get...
Called RCBS yesterday because I broke the decapping pin and bent the threaded rod on my .30 Newton dies. I don't know how old these dies are, but probably older than me. They are packed in a cardboard box wrapped in brown paper. I got them from my Uncle and I don't think he bought them new...
I'm a traditionalist, I like the old cartridges and someday I will have a classic rifle in all of my favorites. .257 Roberts, 250-3000 Savage, 300 H&H, .35 Whelen......I can probably come up with a few more. There are modern cartridges that can outperform them all, but they hold no appeal for...
It's gotten very weird out there and I really don't understand it, especially when it comes to things like .22 rim fire ammo. I read somewhere that CCI makes 4 million rounds of .22 ammo a day. That's only one manufacturer, how many makers of .22 ammo are there? I stopped in a small shop in...
