I can't say for sure that another brand of brass will be the end all be all but it can't hurt to try. You could have a slow lot of powder also. With my newest lot of powder it took .5 grains less than my old lot to achieve the same velocity.
I sent you a pm.
Scotty the only time I observed any ejector marks where on quite warm days which I try to avoid shooting in for the most part. I personally think very little of nosler brass due to its softness.
Scotty retumbo really shines in my rum with a 200 accubond, rem brass, fed 215m with 3197 ave 3 shot velocity. Magnum powder is even more accurate than retumbo but settles in at 3080 and is easy on the brass. My retumbo load is up close to my max but magnum has room to go if i wanted more than...
35 whelen zeroed at 100 yards mainly because of the close range hunting I do with it.
264 win mag 200 yards zero, dial if needed.
300 rum 200 yards zero, dial if needed.
I don't guess when I practice so I won't guess when I'm hunting. Knowing trumps guessing.
Great looking bull and impressive shooting. I could never get that lucky to come across a guy with mules to pack my elk out. Seems like the whole day was meant to be.
