    35 Whelen.

I tend to agree but only the end user can say if going AI is or was worth doing.

    35 Whelen.

Tis my understanding from those in the know on the 35 whelen AI is once brass is formed trimming becomes null and void.

    Cartridge "Ogive length"?

I agree with the chance the mag box can be longer than the distance to the lands but I've never encountered it with any of my Remingtons.

    Cartridge "Ogive length"?

I do the same as Elkman other than I do measure my loaded rounds base of shell to the ogive so I know what the bullet seating depth is for an accurate load and can repeat it. Like others have noted the ogive is not in the exact same location even with in a single box of bullets.

    7mm mag

When I loaded for a friend's 7mm with 160 accubond I set the col at max mag box with reliable feeding. Ran RL22 and i would have had to try to make an inaccurate load with that combo. Never seen a rifle that had that many accuracy nodes while working up to max charge.

I have used 215m and 215 primers with all else being equal and never could see any discernable difference with POI or group size.

    When to retire Brass ?

Like Mike I only use once or twice fired brass for hunting. I personally toss my brass at 5 firings regardless of primer pocket tightness. No real reason behind my 5 firing logic other than I feel I got enough use from the brass at that point.

    35 Whelen

Scotty that newton of yours really has my attention via accuracy and speed. I have got to stay off this site or I'm going to end up with some form of a 35 newton AI ultra mag.
