When I find a power I like I buy 5 or 8 lb jugs. It would be interesting to see your results with higher temps. I don't shoot when it's real hot, mainly cause I don't like being out in the heat.
I've used RL22 quite a bit but not in extreme temps and never seen any issue. That being said I have seen big LOT to LOT variations so when changing lots# drop back in charge weight and work back up. I shoot over a chrono when working up loads and when a new lot of powder is used I just shoot...
If it were me I would be done with load development and be very pleased with my accomplishments, you have done well go out and enjoy your accomplishments. Practice at longer ranges with various shooting positions.
When shooting from a bench I like to set up just like shooting from a bi-pod being I am straight behind the rifle allowing the rifle to recoil straight back. Lot of benches, at least the ones I've seen have 90 degree cut outs where the shooter sets and I see lots of shooters with their chest and...
Are you measuring your OAL base of case to tip or base of case to ogive? Base to tip measurements can vary a lot but I have also seen bullet base to ogive be different when switching lot numbers.
06 stoked with 165 NP, AB or Barnes will kill elk make no mistake about it. I've killed several elk with an 06 mostly with a 180 of sorts. I have since moved on caliber wise for elk not because the 06 failed me or that elk have gotten tougher to kill but purely to use something different. I will...
The only worry I could see using a 200 AB in a 338wm for elk would be do I smile or look serious in the elk down pictures. A 200 AB will work very well in your 338 make no mistake about it. I run a 200 AB in my 300 rum and have never had an issue killing elk with that bullet. If you have...
Excellent groups and great shooting. I would definitively dance with the one that brought ya, no need to look for something perceived to be better IMO.
I only use computed drop values as a starting point to verify actual drops. Real actual drop values trump computed. Shoot the actual drop values a few times before getting your turret cap made. I don't use the CDS dials as they are only good for 1 bullet, 1 speed, 1 BC, 1 altitude. MOA is what I...
You got lots of moxie posting such a group  I'm not sure it would even make a good boat anchor, doubt it would even hold the boat in place.
Excellent shooting by the way. (y)
Glad to hear you got things worked out. Consistent/correct shooting technique plays a HUGE roll in a rifles accuracy potential. Even slight sub MOA will kill very well a long ways out there.
