    Quick Load Question

Yes, that will work. It’s better to continue chrono’ing loads. You’ll need to learn to work weighting, cartridge capacity etc and when to tweak which one.

Load development after changing muzzle devices

Not necessarily, I think it’s going to depend on the device and rifle. I’ve recently added some cans. On one rifle, using the “brake” the can threads over its been atrocious. Direct thread the can and it shoots again. Maybe it’s just me?

41 Magnum followed me home today...

I changed my factory grips on a 45 Colt to the Hogues. I like them

Never really thought I’d do it and it’s JD’s fault

There’s just something cool about a lever resting on a deer pic. Nice to see that one JD!

    22/250 with an 8 Twist !

Congrats on the new rifle. It should put fear in those coyotes. You got to watch out for that Scotty feller.

    Who's hunting with a lever-action this year?

I agree. Nice looking rifle. 45 Colt? I have the same plan but messed up and handled the Big Boy Steel in 44 Mag so now I think I “need” one of those also along with the 45 Colt.

    Brass Which Brand

I think Scotty ran some Sig 300 brass through his Mashburn. He might have some input TD.

    Good 444 article

I’m running the 280 AFrames in mine. Nothing bigger than deer with it thus far but is a formidable load with that bullet.

    Brass Which Brand

Unfortunately they don’t make 300 WM but Alpha is terrific brass. Their 260 is awesome. While I realize the price is high and I do believe that you recoup that in longevity and performance, RWS is pretty amazing also.

    Who's hunting with a lever-action this year?

One of my Marlins worked just fine in OH on Monday morning early. Hopefully more to come. Have to rotate rifles so none get their feelings hurt.

    Dad's 280 and reflections

Great first post. Terrific memories and story. My 280s are Ackley but it’s a great cartridge. Welcome!

    Who's hunting with a lever-action this year?

Well done. First deer, classic rifle, nice buck. How you gonna top that dad?

If I miss it's my fault.

Nice shooting. And again, cool rifles.

    223 bolt action?

It’d be a fun rifle Guy. If you don’t mind a little work, set it up as an Ackley. You can still shoot factory in it but a fast twist and the AI would let you run 77s and 80s in case you want to stretch it out. Or not. Nothing wrong with a regular 223 either.

Done with the 250 savage load.

Man, can you imagine what Newton would have come up with using the powders and other stuff we have today?

6.5 Grendel 120 Speer Gold Dot results.

Nothing wrong with a Grendel for you too. Glad to hear that report on the Gold Dots. I picked up a few boxes of them. Figured if they’re anything like the pistol Gold Dots then they’d be good. It sounds like they are. Sorry about the lack of deer in your lease though.

One Day It Will Go Too Far (If It Hasn't Already)

I agree. The in your face stuff, besides being classless and irritating, is going to get someone hurt badly sooner or late and we know who will get the blame for that. As per your post I fear it has already gone too far. What used to be unacceptable social behavior has become the norm. Not only...
