    scope mounting / alignment wedges

I've got a set of these wedges that I use when mounting scopes on my #1s and they do work. When using Weaver or Picatinny rings I opt to level the the scope off the the rifle using this jig. It works great, but someday I will rebuild it and use a single leveling point on the front. At the time...

    Hornady Cam lock puller

I have both size grip-rite pullers but they don't work for me! I guess my grip strength isn't enough for what's needed. When I said I used lineman's pliers it was in conjunction with my press so you did not distort the necks on the brass.

    Hornady Cam lock puller

I have one. The only downside of it is that it doesn't work with my Co-Ax press. When I need to pull I use an older RCBS press. Prior to buying a puller it was a pair of lineman pliers, but they destroyed the bullets.

    Reamer Question

If I were building multiple rifles or planning to re-barrel to the same cartridge I would buy a reamer and I assume it is possible to re-grind, but don't know at what cost. For me, it has been more economical to rent them from companies like 4D. So far, in renting I've not received a reamer that...

    6.5-06 Ackley Improved dies?

I'm using CH dies to load for my son's 6.5-06 Ackley Improved (40* shoulder). I first used their dies when the company was located in Owen, Wisconsin and have been very happy with the quality of their dies. When he built this rifle CH was the only die maker that had them in stock and they were...

    Best affordable scope

Whichever scope you choose I would recommend that you use Ruger extension rings to get addition flexibility with setback. I'm using them on all of my Ruger #1s

Measuring Headspace for 338 Win Mag

I'm using the Brownells/Sinclair version of the headspace comparators, but they work the same as the Hornady.

    .300 WSM….Is it a Dead Cartridge Commercially?

I don't think you will see Hornady offering the WSM or Winchester the PRC, since they are not going to kill their own products. Federal and Remington are offering ammunition in both for now.

    New Kimber 1911

My carry gun is a Kimber Ultra Carry II in .45ACP, with hardball ammo. It is a dream to shoot. I have thought about loading some cast SWC for it, but it shoots so well with hardball. I hate to hear plastic parts in any 1911 or one of its clones.

    Caldwell Chronograph

Yes, I think the Athlon is the one I was thinking of, and mistakenly thought it was Caldwell. some day I would love to see side-by-side comparisons of the Garmin, Caldwell and Athlon.

    Caldwell Chronograph

Has anyone actually see or laid their hands on one of the new Caldwell Chronographs? I had heard or read that it was going to be in the 300-400 dollar range, but their web site lists it at $549. That would put it in the same price range as the Garmin. If anyone has used one, can you please post...

Neck not hollding the 300rum bullets

When it comes to neck tension, it should not make a difference if a case is just neck sized or FL sized as long as both dies size the necks the same. I'm guessing that if it is that old of brass, when you're sizing it the brass it is not staying to the proper size and is springing back some. I...

Neck not hollding the 300rum bullets

From all that has been shared, we know that you are not getting enough neck tension. When I load I want a minimum of .002" - .003" neck tension, some like .004". What are your actual mic'd neck measurements, fired, FL or neck sized, and loaded?

    33 WCF, Questions

The 33 Winchester has a bullet diameter of .338, so there are some good choices out there. Two options that you might look at are the 200 grain jacketed flat points from Hawk or the 200 grain .338/.33 Winchester bullets from Rim Rock. I helped a neighbor, has passed now, form brass from 45-70...

    Any Cooper rifle fans here?

I've got a Cooper model 22 in 6.5-284 Norma. It is fun to shoot but I have never taken it hunting. Mostly it gets taken to a friends property where we can shoot 600, 800, and 1000 yards. I'm sorry to say that it doesn't get used as often as it should.
