More Advice guys! 300 WSM or 270 WSM

Keep the .270, it's a good medium bore rifle. When you are ready for a thumper get something in the .338 to .375 range.

    64gr BSB in 223

Guy, your question was so good I had to think about it some more. This is going to be my "Any where my AR goes, this load follows....load...." I don't know if I can think of a better general survival load. My AR sports a 16" medium match barrel and a 1-4 Leopold VXII. If I found myself...

    64gr BSB in 223

.223's been legal in South Dakota for some time, and Wyoming just made it legal for deer and antelope. Could be fun to take the AR up to Wyoming on a year when they allow 9 goat tags. Of course, that could be a lot of work. In general I figure it's a good bullet if a guy just wants to be...

    .30-06 load decisions

I see you have the vanilla ice cream and apple pie combination covered: 165gr BT and (x)4350. You could stick some 180gr BT's in front of some 760, or any of the other powders you mention....Of course with that big .375 of your you many never need the 180's in this '06.

    Exit Wound?

I like ample tissue damage. It can come in the form of a long narrow wound channel, or a short broad one. I'm more concerned about knowing which one to expect so use that behavior to my advantage to maxamize my opportunities to fill the freezer.

    Just double checking 30-06 load

Sounds like a pretty stiff load to me. I sure wouldn't go above 58gr with a 180gr bullet.

300 RUM Powder, Need to Change

Don, only thing we ever shot in it was W860 and W872. Since it's milsurplus there is not published data. W872 is typically 8-12% slower then H870, so I start with H870 data and work up.
