A while back I pulled apart some cheap Russian .308. The powder looked like 4895, and every charge was dead on. The charge didn't vary a tenth on my sample of 20.
Yes, plenty of experience.
Heavier brass will produce more pressure. If you switch from Win to Rem brass in the .270 Winchester you need to back your Max loads off about a full grain, otherwise you will have problems.
The CCI's will be "colder" then the winchester primers. You could see a 25-50 fps drop in velocity. Ignition pattern may also be different, so they may not group the same, and may have a different point of impact.
I've seen 12" verticle difference between CCI 200 and Winchester Mag primers in...
Often magnum primers will cut your groups in half with ball powders, especially the old Winchester powders.
I never load them without either a Magnum or benchrest primer.
AZ, congratulaions on your new purchase.
A CZ in a good African cartridge is on my wish list as well.
I would ask the forum if I should get one in .375 or .458 Lott, but I"m afraid they would say BOTH.
Here's one of the loads my Winchester likes:
225gr NAB
71gr H4350 (IMR will work just as well)
Win Brass
Winchester Mag primers
26" barrel, 80 degree day,
Average velocity 2878 fps
SD 6.55
I don't belive that is a max load, but check you manual and work up.
When you can find them, the 200gr BT's are great. With either H4831, or H4350 it's easy to get them to shoot sub moa. 200-225gr AB's are also a great choice.
With a 200gr bullet you can keep your velocity just above 3k. That big wide fast moving bullet has a devistating effect on elk/moose...
I just ordered my 5 boxes.
I appreciate Nosler listening to our requests and making this bullet for us.
I appreciate the SPS overrun discount even more!!
Yes, if you read the entire bill is says something to the effect, that where otherwise illegal, an individual who is just passing through "Shall be entitled to:", and then add the rest of what's printed above.
In reality this is just a restatement of current federal law, so unless they add...

Pat has both w860 and w872 back in stock.
At $6.00 per pound plus hasmat, these are you best options trying to feed the big RUM's.
Gentlemen thanks for the compliments.
I've bought from both Jeff at GI Brass and Pat at Pats powders.
Recently Jeff's listed some WC857.
It's .50 BMG tracer powder, and he claims it's burn rate is similar to H1000.
I have no experence with this powder, but would sure like to try a couple jugs...
shunter, you are discovering one of the frustrations with the NPT. Some rifles just don't like them....or at least don't like the with the powders we are acustomed to using with them.
If it doesn't like the stick powder, try a ball powder with a magnum primer of similar burn rate. Then as...
If you set the chronograph at 15 feet, add 8 FPS to the reading to get actual muzzle velocity. In other words, the differenece is withing the margin of error, and not worth worring about.
Now that you've started chronographing you will begin to see all the factory that can affect your...
Lucky You.
It just mean it will be that much longer before you have to trim it.
I hate trimming brass, so it's not uncommon for me to trim on the short side.
