The first bobtail 1911 I held a few years ago I didn't care much for the feel of it either. This Gen 2 Kimber feels different that I think might be related to the thicker grips, maybe? Felt good whatever the reason. Now the thinking process is kicking in :unsure::LOL:

Anyone bought one of these and have firsthand knowledge, use with it? Looked at and held one, stainless version yesterday and it felt good. Likes the looks of the two tone on their website better.

Good going. One of my brothers in laws has used his S&W Mod 57 41 mag on a few deer. Good caliber.

I've reloaded for 308,30-06 and 35 Rem in Rem Mod 760s using a full length die without any problems. Not to mention couple of semi autos.

760s are tuff. One in a 30-06 was what I first started reloading for. Just use the data in reloading manuals and start low working up same as in any other 270. Glad you have one and let us know what loads you come up with.

Just me but seldom ever. I do let the rifle dictate what it can handle but if acceptable accuracy is achieved at velocity that is at max or slightly below, I'll take accuracy every time. Your loading process is correct for venturing up above max. Glad it worked out for you.

My guess is that the pillars aren't straight and the depth of the inlet is somewhat off. If it sets crooked in the barrel channel just remove the amount needed to relieve it from touching. As for the action, magwell area you can coat the bottom and sides of the action with inletting black or use...

That is more than disappointing. As for the barrel, depends on where you're ordering from and by which shipper. Personally, I think the USPS and FEDX has gone down the drain. My local post office does a good job but the problems I've had is after it leaves them and starts through their system...
