Load Dev for custom LR 280 AI

Dwh thanks for your help. Whenever I do get to the range, i'll give you aome muzzle velocities. And I'll try and get you a fired case water weight. Another thing, I decided to start at 3.340 coal. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Load Dev for custom LR 280 AI

Ouch! Maybe I should start with more of a sure thing? I have 7828ssc and 4831sc although I know i probably wont hit the speed I'm looking for with the kind of accuracy I want. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Load Dev for custom LR 280 AI

I have no fired case yet, but maybe in a week or so I will. I'll get you an H2O copacity after shooting the first time out. Velocity will be easy once I shoot over my chrony. Thanks for the help. Right now Im just looking for a good start powder weight and estimated max. Sent from my SM-N920V...

Load Dev for custom LR 280 AI

Thats a good point, and maybe I should do that. I would be happy with the 150gn ABLR in the 3000 fps range. If i can hit an accuracy node somewhere around there with it, i would call it a good day. Maybe someone with quickloads can run it through for me. 3100 fps would be nice, but I like...

Load Dev for custom LR 280 AI

Some of you know I've been waiting nearly a year for my custom 280 AI. I finally have it, and I will be mounting a scope this weekend, as well as prepping some Nosler Brass for load development. This is my goal for my first range session. To find max safe load for my rifle. I will be loading...

Dan thats a nice muley..I always wanted to hunt mule deer. We dont have that flavor of deer in N.C. I'm getting excited about ringing mine out and see what she likes. I'm going to mount my scope this weekend and possibly get started on a load. The game plan is to start mith book mid charge...

    Custom 280 Ackley improved

We shall see. I have some reloader 26 that might work out for me with the 150gn ABLR. From the consensus I've gatherd, seems like the ABLR likes some jump. I figured the opposite would be true. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Rifle showed up today, and as I suspected, the fit, finish, coating allof it is top notch. Eddie builds one hell of a rifle. Will mount my Nightforce ATACR this weekend. Thing just looks accurate as heck just sitting there. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Hello Dan, thanks for the input. My rifle is safely home right now. I'm only waiting to get off work so I can remove it from it's case and take a good look at it. I havent been this excited since I was a little boy on the night before christmas. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

    Custom 280 Ackley improved

All Business was the look I was after. I shoot with a lot of AR10 guys, so a heavy tactical influence played a roll in my customs design. I'm not much into the AR platform myself, more of a Bolt Gun typ. To each their own. Paint it purple it will do the same thing. Go BOOM! Sent from my...

    Custom 280 Ackley improved

JD I have the 150gn ABLR, and 162gn ELD-X. I'm hoping for 3100 fps with the ABLR, and 3000 with the ELD-X. I hope I can get one of the two to behave for me. I have H4831sc, R17, IMR7828ssc and R26. I'm hoping to hit those velocities with one of the powders listed, but will settle for 3000 for...

    Loading for the 280 Ackley...

Sort of wondering about that myself. If it was chambered for the SAAMI spec chambering which Nosler loads their ammunition for, 3.330 at least should fit. I would ask the smith who cut the chamber about the amount of freebore on his reamer. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
