30-06 and 165gn Nosler BT @ 406 yds vs Doe

Yep despite what you heard. 30-06 and a 165gn BT still equals bad medicine at 406 yds. Thats what I told my buddy sitting in a stand with a 300 Win mag. Some ppl think 30-06 bounces right off deer if you shoot at them over 200 yards. Shot her at 406 out of that stand. Dropped where she...

3006 still getting it done with 165gn BT

I have owned/own multiple calibers in magnums on down and have yet to find anything I appreciate more than the boring 30-06. Its a classic caliber that just plain works. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Anyone try R26 in the 280 ackley imp

Picked up a pound of R26 yesterday with the hopes of finding a good load for 150gn and up. R22 shoots great but the insensitivity to temp has drove me away. If there are some who have tried it and are happy with the reaults, I sure would like to hear it. Maybe some one with QL wouldnt mind...

    R17 - 150gn ABLR and 280 ACKLEY IMPROVED

I will look forward to hear what he has to say. I bought the R17 to work up a load in my 30-06 but H4350 works so well, I see no point in messing with it. Heard rumors folks were getting positive results with R17 in the 280 Ackley improved, so looking forward to working with it. Sent from my...

    30-06 load data

Might want to give IMR4350 or H4350 a go with the 165gn. That combo was made for the 30-06 I get 2850 fps and nice little clovers with that powder. My load is H4350 58 gns Nosler BT 165 gn Win brass CCI primers Not an extremly hot load, just found my accuracy at 58gns... nosler list 57.5...

    R17 - 150gn ABLR and 280 ACKLEY IMPROVED

That sounds incouraging. Hoping for around 3100 in a 26 inch barrel, but will inevitably stop where the accuracy is. Curious where people using this combo have found their accuracy node. Feeling like this will be a top notch deer getter. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

    R17 - 150gn ABLR and 280 ACKLEY IMPROVED

Has anyone had stellar results with this combo? I would be interested in hearing about your results. I was really interested in using this powder since I have 4 pounds of it. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
