looks very similar indeed to an
Spot on TexasLife...that is exactly the idea....said another way, it was to duplicate a 7mm PRC in a smaller case ,and with a 20" barrel. Exceeds velocity of a 7mm PRC when both using 24" barrels...again, that was the IDEA.
Ok gents I have an update as to this situation. Contacted Weatherby today. Very nice Customer Service Rep named Alan. He told me to contact Federal. Supposedly some lots of ammunition were too hot, and have been re-formulated. I thought about just sending the rifle to Weatherby to re-barrel to...
I hope this is the appropriate place for this post. I shot my brand new 7mm BC today for the first time. Weatherby Factory rifle with 307 Action. Beautiful wood, and that is in part why I bought it. Federal Premium 175 grain ammunition with nickel plated cases with advertised velocity of 3150...
I have a .300 Win Mag in an Sig Cross....and a stainless Classic Model 70. I wouldn't have bought the Cross in .300 Win had I been able to buy one in an '06 or .280. But you cannot. The '06 is my go to, and in my light rifles like a K95, I don't enjoy the .300 WM to be sure. I love single...
.22LR. A suppressed .22 is so much fun. Don't waste your money on sub sonic for a pistol. 1300 FPS on the box = subsonic out of a handgun.
.223 military caliber, availability everywhere, as close to a "varminter" as I need.
.270 Win. Jack would roll over if I omitted this one.
7x57mm / .275...
i am a 24" kind of guy :) Thanks so much.....I have .300 WM's , and they are great, but prefer my '06's and .300 H&H's... I am going to try Ramshot Hunter as it is highly recommended for this....
"The 30-06 plain or AI versions are way better cartridges than most give them credit for.If they did it would probably hurt the sales of a lot of other newer cartridges." IMHO, TRUER WORDS have not been spoken. So many of the new cartridges (but not all:)) are hype, and marketing. That is what...
I prefer Black Powder in my traditional rifles...this is only used in an inline that is designed for this type of propellant....so i do use 209 sparingly. I agree I prefer the soapy water part of cleaning black powder or pyrodex.....My bores for those rifles are seasoned as is a cast iron...
sorry i edited my post to be more clear....i had never heard of athlon before...after watching that woman's above review, I think I would save $200 and buy the Athlon!
It aint getting any better.....I paid something crazy last week...see below. Kind of embarrassing but thankfully I don't use lots of it. I honestly love black in my 1860's Whitworth sporting rifles, but in my Uintah Precision .45 upper this is THE way to go. It is just not hydroscopic like black...
I don't have that much need for speed to force the old warhorse that hard :) , and I do get your point. Thank you. A chronograph is essential, and my Garmin is a game changer. I do have some .300 H&H's. And a few .300 Win Mags. I have no wish or desire to wring 3000 FPS with an 180 via an '06...
JD338 thank you so much for the reply. Would you be so kind as to share with me from where? If they ship, I need a pound for sure. thanks again for the help.
