That is an awesome dream to fulfill! Where will you be hunting, east or west of the continental divide? Outfitter?
I have only used handloaded 180 gr core-lokt in 30-06 for elk. They don't hold up if you hit the humerus or scapula. I hunt with a 280ai now & 160 accubonds. I aim for the front...
I have a 223 bolt gun. 1:12 twist. It shoots 62 grain federal fusion into 1/2 group at 100 yards with a leupold mark AR 3-9 scope. It doesn't shoot 55 or 50 ballistic tips as well. Just my wxperience

I'll second Dwh7271, except I am running 59.5 gr of RL 26 with 160 accubond. Cci br2. Norma fire formed brass. 0.01 off the lands. 2920 fps in a 24" barrel. Group was 0.4".
that said I tested about 50 rounds loaded with varying charges of RL 23. Best group was 1.0" at 2960 fps with 59.0 gr of...
I have not tried any of those powders and do not know about regular and shortcut performance . I've had good luck with reloader 23 and 26. But I am running a 160 gr accubond with a cci br2 through a 1 in 9" twist barrel

Great post! I was wondering the same thing. I've got some 140 ballistic tips and accubonds loaded up with identical loads. Ready to test it out, but won't be able to get to it for 5 or 6 weeks

I have not loaded any 220 gr partitions yet for my 30-06. I was going to use reloader 23 since I have a bunch, and it doesn't work well in my 280ai. My 280ai does love reloader 26, btw.
My 30-06 is a Remington 700 with a 22" barrel. I am not sure I will get any loads for it this year. Also, my...
Thanks mjcmichigan. Great groups and thank you for sharing your load data. I was debating between the Sierra's you're shooting and the nosler 220gr partitions earlier this summer for my 30-06. Ended up with the partitions, but have not worked a load for it. - man, either load will work. I also...
Shot placement is #1. Limit your shot to 100 or so yards and Put a 150 gr partition through both lungs and you'll be fine

There isn't much meat/bone on an antelope. My guess is an accubond in that caliber at that velocity will pencil hole right though without much energy transfer. Undoubtedly it will still kill one with proper shot placement
