A few of the fellas of Team Savage are long time members of the club, they are great fellas and a great help to folks interested in the sport. They have both done extremely well and have brought home a lot of gold in F-class shooting. The club is certainly proud of them and their accomplishments.
1000 yd Leupold Cup Match going on at my club today and tomorrow. Douglas Ridge south east of Portland. I'm on my way up there after another cup of coffee.....
Ridgerunner,
Please excuse me because my memory has become a little sketchier as I've gotten older, that said, I don't remember when exactly but I do remember the 7mm Rem.Mag max pressures were reduced down to 61,000 psi. due to pressure spiking issues. Though I'm not exactly sure, it does seem...
Same here and grounds for having your membership permantly revoked.....
We had 4 deer crossing the range mid-morning during a hot line when we had the club open to the public on shooter sight in days last October, RSO immediately closed the line for about 15 minutes until one of the other club...
That's good and informative, since you've mentioned flattened primers did you happen to look at the primers on the spent factory cartridges and see how they might compare to your spent handloads?
Seems mild for a .270 to me also... Though you are shooting a 4 inch shorter barrel than Noslers pressure barrel which is turning about 100 ft more fps with similar components and load, its also assuming a 25fps loss for every inch of your barrel length.
When you mention primer "flattening", to...
Thanks and your welcome, I've got a valid bear tag in my pocket right now and would really like to give the new knife and another knife a pal over in Idaho fixed up for me a honest field test but, I'm staying outta the the woods for a few days until it cools off a bit. 95-100 degree temps and...
I have to give credit where credit is due, after pulling the trigger on a renewal last Wednesday the Outdoor Edge Razor Blaze knife was in my mailbox today! I'm not into gimmicks and free with a purchase come ons but I felt the need to say this is kind of a neat knife. Sure it isn't a custom...
Its interesting that you got such a wider disparity of vel. differences between 75-90 degrees ( a 15 degree difference) than you did between 35-75 degrees. (A 40 degree difference)
What was the cartridge ?
The .280 AI I had originally belonged to a close friend of mine who later traded back...
I did say reputed, additionally, I've never had any overt or unusual temp sensitivity issues with the canisters I've used. I should add that I do most of my hunting load development in the late fall and over the winter when load pressures and vels will more closely match the weather I generally...
 when you mentioned your action screws being a little off, I thought to myself no wonder..... I was going to ask how the bolt lift was too.......
I'm not necessarily convinced either and load accordingly also, I only mentioned it because you remarked about using it. I would imagine your results would closely mirror the performance of REL. 22.... I've wondered if the additional coatings on REL. 22 may have something to do with its reputed...
I've heard that MRP and Rel.22 are one in the same poured into different canisters........ book data is nearly identical.
Regardless, I had extremely good success with Accubombs and Rel. 22 in the .280AI I owned with Fed 210's.
Congrats on your new rifle and luck on your loads,
