Just a thought, not sure your seating depths but, have you tried seating the bullets a bit deeper with the either powders, I've had better consistency across a few cartridges around .60 thous. off with the AB's for some reason.... maybe my rifles or ......? Hopefully others will weigh in on...
Hell, that's still good shooting at 200 yds, I don't think you should be that disappointed. Thanks for the update on your vels. Looks like you are right up at the velocity/pressure threshold that QL predicted and using 59 instead of 60 grs. of powder.
Check your torque and reshoot.........
Yep, used dryer sheet or a smooth towel at the range. The dryer sheet works also well for reducing the static on plastic powder funnels/hoppers/ containers and the like at the load bench also.
YMMV
Krakys post about Sinclairs chamber length gauges is great info, additionally the use of tapered neck expanding mandrels with full length sizing dies also reduces some stretching.
Thanks for the insightful post and link, you probably saved me some coin and frustration.
Thought about trying these in a T-3 super light '06. Twist is 1/11...... After running the calc. I think its likely a non-starter...........
Thanks Fellas and excellent shooting Kraky !!!!!
LOL, yeah its common knowledge that Tikka's are a marginal proposition at best......
I started with W.W. bagged brass that had issues, clean up turned the necks and used mandrels, developed a load from there.
Best,
BD
Scotty and Dewey,
You won't be heart broken, this is a 5 shot sample load for a 22-250 yote' rifle I was working on, it wasn't a 100 yd chip shot either.........
Thanks for posting this up Scotty, I was curious what you were going to think of them and am glad you will make good use of them. I wish I could lay my hands on some more in 7 mm now that I'm out of them............
You made some very good points Jim, especially about better brass and being able to take a half a thousandths cut to clean it up even if that's necessary being sufficient for factory rifles.
Since a lot of reloaders blanche at the thought of paying well over a C-note plus shipping for 100 cases...
Guy,
Im stuck on the fence and couldn't say definitively one way or another. During my experimenting there has been improvement in some of my factory rifles, not much in others, and that's not an empirical result. I think it is a piece of a larger puzzle and it depends on a individuals...
Hi Dewey,
If you should decide to neck turn your cases and are using a Std. FL. Sizer, I have a tip you might find useful to reduce any runout if you are encountering it and you can also use it on other turned or non- turned cases.
Take the expander ball and stem out of your die and leave it in...
Some say its a waste of time, others disagree, I'm of the later group. I have done side by side comparisons of non-turned and turned cartridges using identical components from identical lots using identical loading procedures and have found accuracy differences in some rifles, not all.
There are...
I have a question for you fellas that have one, have any of you measured the COAL across a half dozen to a dozen or so cases after trimming and found any variences in the COAL ?
I'm also curious if the bushing will slip completely down the neck to the shoulder junction on PFLR cases?
Thanks
Yeah, I think it may work well also. I've been getting outstanding accuracy with 55 grs. of Rel. 19 under 140gr. Accubonds. It was the first load I put together to try out in my new custom and it shot 5 rounds damn near into 1 hole. I nearly fainted at the range...... :) Chrono'ed vels are...
That's some fine shooting and an interesting thread on REL. 22 under 140's in the .280 Rem.
I've been considering trying it under some 150 gr. LRAB's in my .280
You are more than welcome, if you happen to find any in 7mm well....you know how to get ahold of me ;>)
I didn't realize you were over on this forum too, always great to have another place to visit with your buddies !
Let me know how they worked for you when you've had a chance to squirt a...
