    Neck turning vs. reaming

I use this tool also, extremely accurate adjument features and a pleasure to use for a job that for many isn't always pleasant to do. Fellas that started and run the company were tool designers/ engineers for Sinclairs and are great to deal with, excellent customer service. JME, BD1

Help determining best OAL for my rifle

That's my experience also. To also add to the commentary about AB jump, I've had better results with the bullets seated deeper as well. BD

Which gun rest for testing loads

I've been running a Caldwell "Rock" tripod with leather bags and a leather rabbit ear rear bag. I also have the same rest Fotis posted above but use the Caldwell rest most often.

Working 'Em Out (in the snow)

Thanks for the report, the Ross is certainly interesting. Looking forward to hearing more about it once you had a chance to adjust the seating depths and shoot it some more. BD

    COAL Minimum?

You didn't mention what you are loading for or whether you need to use a crimped or no crimp procedure. To make sure that I'm following you correctly, when you are seating a bullet the case is bottoming out in the seating die and you running the brass up into the crimp portion of the seater and...

Okay done bragging, had a dismal failure again whith H414

Taylorce, IME, the WLR caps I've been buying over the last 5-10 years have been the hottest of the standard primers. I wouldn't say that's always been the case or will remain that way either....... Fed 215M's have been very consistent mag primers for ball powder and magnum rifle loads for me...

    35 Newton loads

Pretty nifty load work. Its interesting to see the .375 Ruger case being so amenable to the Newtons sans the work of getting a case ready to load. I recall the retired gentleman that showed me some handloading ropes owned both .30 and .35 Newton rifles. At that time he used .300 HH and .375 HH...

    338-06 VS 35-06 aka 35 Whelen

Thanks Dan ! I'm sorry to say I'm not a lefty though many in my family are. You won't find me ganging up on lefties or anyone here. Being a rightie I get it from family so I understand the plight..... I'm also interested to hear about your AI, I've had the pleasure to run a real good one on a...

Thank you for the very warm welcome DrMike, its truly appreciated. I'm not shooting the Whelens anymore having parted company with my last one a little while back to a fellow member on this forum who I understand enjoys it very much. With respect to the OP regarding bullets and powders in the...

    338-06 VS 35-06 aka 35 Whelen

Hi all, I'm new here, I've never owned a 338-06 however my brother has one I've helped him with and I've owned several Whelens. I have to think that if a fella was looking at one or the other to have right now, component availability would be a concern if you wanted properly head stamped brass...
