Figured as much. I was eying up a very nice PA Long Rifle with a tiger stripe stock about 5 years ago and it was over 2big clams when the guy had it made.... 10 years prior.
Going to take the hawken smokepole for a walk after Christmas and see if I can fill a doe tag. Might have to stop up...
243 is a nice round. Nothing wrong with a 20" sporter tube. I got one as a youth hunter and kept on using it. I have knocked a lot of whitetail down with mine without complaints.
Smith & Wesson 1500 243
Mine liked H4831SC with a Hornady 100gr interlock
OK, if you don't hear anything, bug me after New Years. I am busy as crap at the moment with work, hunting, etc. I just started working on next years budget at work. $2.3m and its due friday and I am off friday..... spent 7 hours playing in line item spreadsheets today. Have another 8-10...
Shydas bring a crazy crowd on a weekend. Weekdays are much better.
I have a lefty browning a-bolt in 280 that was my dads. I am thinking about selling it. I have no use for it.

I would use kroil on it and let it soak a few days. Kroil stinks, is expensive but is awesome for anything from cleaning barrels to breaking things free.

I am in 4D too. I am in Huntingdon county, just above the 4A CWD zone and near SGL322.
4D was in bad shape for a while due to giving out too many doe licenses. All of the local property owner closed doe hunting on their land for 4 or 5 years. That helped bring the deer back in the small...
Thanks guys. In 25 years of hunting I don't think I have taken more than 4 buck after the first day and only one on Wednesday or after.
Pressure is really down the last few years. Nobody wants to bother with drives anymore.
Heading back out next Friday and Saturday for doe. Monday through...
PA's season started off with strange weather and seemed like harvest was low.
11/29 & 11/30 - 4" of snow on the ridge that slowly melted over the weekend. This was a good thing and allowed some last minute scouting and I shifted my stand 40 yards over to watch some heavy traffic along a gully...
