I got to shoot my Savage 220 at something much larger and exciting than paper/cardboard targets. I shot this Iowa 10 pt Dec. 5th. 30 yd quartering to shot. He ran under my tree stand and died 10 yds away from the base of the tree. I recovered the slug from just under the hide on the opposite...
Very windy here today but the Savage bolt gun still grouped pretty good at 100 yds. It's printed smaller groups but in much better conditions. However, today's conditions are more realistic to Midwest hunting elements. I shot 4.5" groups at 250 yds 3 weeks ago verifying the Leupold Ultimate...
I shot this group early this morning at my home range. This Rem 700 is really sensitive in that it requires a fouled barrel to shoot well. My last range trip was to a 500 yd range where my brother and I put dozens of rounds through our rifles. Of course, I cleaned the barrel after that...
Best group after first time at the range. All 3 shot groups were sub 3/4 moa but this was the best one.
HS Precision stock, X mark trigger, 6x18x40 AO. CDL w/ wind plex Leupold VX2. Devcon bedded recoil lug. I look forward to playing around with it.

Shot some groups at 100 yds today. I pillar bedded this rifle last week and I think it will be a consistent shooter over time now. This rifle likes a lot of different loads and it printed these two groups today. Different bullets, weights, powders, etc.

I shot a few guns at my range today to test some new loads. I was pleased with the 3 shot groups I got with my Tikka T3 7mm-08. 2 through same hole and one above which may have been me. Other group with 2/10 gr less powder was 0.662". I tinker some more. I love this stuff !!

The middle group was shot with the Rem 700 260 Rem I was having issues with. Die adjustment to set the shoulder back has remedied the problem. It appears that it may have some accuracy potential for a sporter weight non-custom rifle. Shot about as good as the 2 Tikka rifles above and below...
Update: My brother checked the headspace and determined that the rifle has a tight chamber. The head space was on the minimal side. He adjusted my sizing die to set the shoulder back a couple thousands. He just put another 1/4th turn into the sizer die to fix the problem. I can now feel the...
Extractor appears to be working just fine. It moves as it should and when compressed, it is flush with bolt face. The fired brass has the ejector mark and the base of the case is distorted, it rocks when placed on a flat surface, it's no longer flat itself.

Update:: I super cleaned the chamber, throat and lug recess. I tore the bolt down, cleaned, degreased, and re- lubed appropriate parts. Found that front action screw was too long and contacting underside of bolt head when in the lock position. I installed a washer front and rear to shim the...
